  1. Newman University in Kansas- apps due Jan 1st Texas Wesleyan (with clinical sites all over)- apps due I think in Feb sometime. I'm pretty sure they were still conducting interviews in April last year. Good Luck!
  2. I think that sometimes the opposite of discrimination happens for men in a traditionally woman dominated profession. Most of the men I work with do get more respect and I've heard stats about how men get promoted faster... This is of course not true all the time but men I work with do seem to get the benefit of the doubt(with patients, docs, etc.) where I usually have to prove myself. Sorry I kind of started rambling...I think you'll do great in nursing so long as you work hard and apply yourself.
  3. This is a great post! Thanks kmchugh for all the info. I thought it was especially great since Newman is my top choice of schools I'm applying to. Thanks again!
  4. thanks Bruce, it makes me feel better to hear that from someone who is in the program.
  5. So... does Texas Wesleyan still have their program or are they planning on shutting down? I'm a little concerned-my app was sent last week. I had heard there had been some "changes" in administration but didn't know any details.
  6. How can you not tell your supervisor you're applying when most schools require a reference from your supervisor? ( as part of the application)
