  1. WendyEvans, I just saw your post and really, I think you should be honest in your resume. You will be asked questions in interviews that may uncover the truth, or some of it and you'll end up in a bad light, anyway. If you went through a medical program abroad, I believe going to nursing school anywhere would be a cake walk. Thta's what future employers will be looking at...your knowledge base, skills and also, ability to blend into their corporate culture. If you have all or most of these, you failing the USMLE would be your employer's gain.
  2. TraumaRUs, Please elaborate..what aspects of advanced practice do you not like?
  3. It sounds stressful and intimidating for sure, but I would suggest you adopt the mindset of taking things in stride and taking charge of the situation. Every workplace has its issues, be it management, process or interpersonal relations. I am not sure what your style is but as far as the language situation goes, how about addressing the problem with one of the more approachable nurses in a non-adversorial, non-accusatory manner? People tend to loosen up when you are perceived as 'desiring to build rapport with the group'. In terms of being played like a yo-yo, I would say address your frustration with the next level of management. I would escalate the issue if the situation persists. That, or grit your teeth and wait out the rest of the time until you can start your training program.
  4. Surgical instruments thrown at you?!! Am I being naive, or does anyone else find this disrespectful? Did you take any action against the surgeon(s), zoeboboey?
  5. That state of affair in a hospital should not be tolerated!! Everyone is at risk! I would not only move on, but call the regulatory body that oversees hospital administration in that State. I'd go one step further and draw media attention to the problem - as soon as possible.:angryfire
  6. Hi w8ing Congratulations! I also applied to UIC and was accepted into the ACNP program..and yes, you can defer admission for a year. I remember mvanz9999 from the interview and I'm glad he got in, too. Once again, congratualtions to everyone who got in and good luck! illinipeds, hang on in there...there's hope yet.
