I used Lippencott and Saunders also, check out the random fact throwing thread, it is AWSOME!!!

I graduated in Aug. and took ATI predictor and the results were 98% of passing NCLEX and I took NCLEX on Sept. 2nd and PASSED!! I think ATI is a pretty good predictor! Goodluck!!

i found out today---i passed!!!!! what a great relief!! thanks to all who posted random facts and helped me slay the nclex-pn!!!!!:yeah::up: i can now say i am a lpn!!!:):)

My last question for the nclex-pn was med. What does that mean?

I took mine today too and I feel exactly the same way. The only thing we can do now is wait. What kind of questions did you have-sata, pharm? I had a lot of pharm that I did not have a clue about and a lot of sata and priority. The hard part is behind us--so just try to relax and wait for the results. GOODLUCK!!! My thoughts about the test are the same too. Mine shut off at 85 questions-so, 50/50 chance of passing! Keep us posted!!!

well, i took the nclex-pn today and feel as everyone else does-miserable!!! :banghead: i left feeling like i didn't learn a thing in school!! :confused: it did shut off at 85, but that is just a number. i had a lot of sata, pharm, and priority, no math!! i am sooooo glad that it is over and will look forward to getting my results so i will know what to do next!! thanks for listening!!:typing:scrying: hope to post results soon!!

okay friends at allnurses-i have moved my date up for nclex-pn. instead of the 10th-i am going to take it this tuesday at 12:30 and i am sooooo nervous:heartbeat! i have been out of school for about 4 weeks now and have been studying everyday since. i have done about 2500 questions over a 4 week period and look at the random fact throwing thread every night. what a great thread!!! with all of that said, i am a basket case!!! i know that i can do this, but i am second guessing myself so much!! i did pretty good in school, my gpa was a 3.6, but i have heard that nclex is like no other and that no matter how much studying you do you could not prepare for this type of test. my anxiety level is over the top. any suggestions for calming would be appreciated. i am not going to study any more after today and will have a great labor day! hope you all do the same!!

I took the ATI predictor the last day of school and it said that I have a 97% chance of passing the NCLEX. Has anyone else taken the predictor and passed NCLEX with flying colors? I am scheduled to take NCLEX the 10th of September and am really getting nervous!!!:heartbeat:no: Can anyone give me some insight on the predictor and some tips on last minute studying? I have been doing about 75-100 questions a day and am feeling so unprepared!! Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!

ok, here it goes-i am a recent lpn grad and i have applied for several jobs in my area(mostly ltc facilities) and they all want me to have at least one year of experience! where does one go to work as a new grad to obtain this experience!!! i have given up 3 years of my life to obtain this stinking license and i can't find a job!! please if anyone has any ideas please let me know!!!:wink2: this is so frustrating!!:redbeathe:nurse::redbeathe

What factors are considered when a physician is called regarding a resident and what information is needed before the call is made? I am thinking condition of patient etc. Am I on the right track? Info needed=condition, all nursing interventions completed, IV fluids, V/S, etc. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you all. I normally do post how I work the problems, but yesterday I was on my way to work and was hoping for some assistance before I got home. I have been doing the problems just as you all have-come to find out the answers on the answer key were incorrect. They were as follows-Problem 19 I=925 and O=900 Problem 20 I=1238 and O=930. It was the intake on problem 20 that was throwing me off. Thank you all soooo much! What a great group of people. Thanks again!!!

I am sorry for just throwing this on here. No, this is not homework! It is just a review for us. I am having trouble with figuring out the IV part of the problems. How do you figure which one running and for how long. I know one is clamped off when running piggyback and such, but how long are they running for. I even have the answer key, but I can not for the life of me make this work for me. Especially the last two.

At 2300 the patient had an IV of 0.45% NS infusing at 75 mL/hr. The patient had coffee ground emesis measuring 350 mL at 0100. The doctor ordered 2 units of PRBC's over 3 hrs, followed by an IV of 0.9% NS to infuse at 100 mL/hr. The nurse discontinued the current IV and started the first unit of PRBC's (250mL) at 0200 and the second unit (250mL) at 0330. The IV of 0.9% NS was started at 0500. The client voided twice (250 mL & 300 mL). Calculate the patient's total I & O starting at 2300 and ending at 0700. Intake _________________ Output ________________ 20. At 2300 the patient had an IV of 0.45% NS infusing at 125 mL/hr. The patient received Ampicillin in 50 mL 0.9% NS IV PB at 2345 over 30 min. and again at 0600 over 30 min. The client voided twice on your shift (600 mL & 300 mL). The client drank half of his 1000 mL water pitcher during the night. There was 30 mL + drainage from the Hemovac during the night. Calculate the patient's total I & O starting at 2300 and ending at 0700. Intake ______________ Output _____________

This is really helpful!!! I have a couple more problems. pH-7.48, PaCO2-32, and HCO3-24-is this metabolic alkalosis? Also, pH-7.45, PaCO2-47, and HCO3-29-is this Metabolic acidosis with partial compensation? Thanks!!!

I need some info on resp. acidosis, resp. alkalosis, metabolic acidosis, and metabolic alkalosis. I don't really understand it very well. I also need to know how you decide if it is compensated fully or partially. How do you know? Any information would be appreciated.

I am in Fundamentals too. I used my powerpoints to study. I read the chapters first, then really concentrated on the powerpoints. goodluck!! It is a lot of critical thinking and picking the "right" best answer!!
