  1. Hi, everyone. I just have a quick question. I graduated LPN school July 08. I have been working in a clinic locally but recently quit(for several reasons). I want to work in a hospital setting to keep my nursing skills but there are no positions locally and I am also planning to become a RN in the near future. Sorry it is taking so long to get to my question but what I need to know is how hard is it to get licensed when Louisiana is not one of the compact states I am licensed in. I would really like to work maybe in slidell, hammond, or the metarie area. I will work any shift but I prefer night shift and working just weekends being that I have kids and it would be much easier on my family. (I will pretty much take anything to begin with just to get my foot in the door. SORRY SO LONG BUT ANY REPLIES WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED !!!!
  2. Is anyone considering or going through this program?(ISU LPN to BSN) I am looking to become a RN even though I just received my LPN license. I plan to ultimately become a NPractioner so this seems like the smartest and fastest route. Any advice would be great. I am a mom of three girls and will soon be working nights, so the traditional campus bridge to RN wouldn't really work for me, besides the fact that there are waiting lists at some schools and no guarantee I would get in. Any response would be great. Thanks EI
  3. Congratulations to you also! This is the best feeling in the world, a feeling of true accomplishment. I wish you well in your career as a nurse. Woo Hoo ! Go US !
  4. Great News !!!!!!!!! I just found out 21 minutes ago I passed my nclex exam and I am officially a nurse. I am so excited. Thanks everyone for the encouraging and optimistic words. It is so easy to get down in the dumps when you feel like an idiot and you take that huge test that your whole life seems to be revolving around. zoomnurse,LPN :loveya:
  5. My computer cut off at 85. I was praying for dosage questions and I only got one out of 85. I had a lot of pharmacology and check all that apply. I estimated about 15 check all that apply I hate those. Good luck to you and thanks for replying to my post.
  6. I took my Nclex early this morning and I feel awful. It was very hard for me. I kept begging the computer for dosage questions or even IV drip rate questions. Could anyone respond and let me know how it went for them. Maybe I'm just an idiot but, I am very discouraged after the way things went.
  7. I just graduated last month and I am an LPN ,jobs are hard to come by for us especially at the hospital, but I will be working at Forrest General on the postpartum floor. I guess I got lucky. RN positions seem to be a bit more available. I don't think you will have trouble finding a job. I wish you well and a big welcome to Mississippi. If you have any other questions private message me and I will do my best to answer them. By the way why would you move from Hawaii to Mississippi ????????? if you don't mind me asking.
  8. many thanks to everyone for your input it is greatly appreciated. i feel very lucky and thank god every day for this opportunity. i had clinicals on this floor and loved every second of it so i am looking forward to working and learning crucial nursing skills.
  9. i just landed a job as an lpn on the postpartum floor and don't know exactly what to expect. can anyone give me some insight on what to look forward to when i start working there next month. any information or advice would be great.
