I think you can pull out insurance through blue cross or some other private insurance agency ??? I personally am under my husbands work insurance, but when there was a gap in his insurance 6 years ago I pulled out a private insurance plan for my son and I and it was only $80 a month..

I currently live in Arizona and go to Estrella Mountain (maricopa school) and it is about 1 to 2 year wait mostly 2 years though !!! It is very competive out here and that is why I am moving to Colorado !!! Plus this heat is HORRIBLE !!!!! Good luck

For the Mom with the HLHS where is yoru child getting the surgeries done ?? I worked at a hospital in Chicago that had one of the best for the HLHS surgeries.. Just wondering ?? I know there are only a few in the nation that are great !!! :) I got into nursing because I love children and medical, but then I got pregnant while in school and took off 6 years and my children have had medical problems but nothing major just a few surgeries here and there .. OMG if you cant do blood and urine and throw up I personally think the suctioning was the WORST.. I would gag so bad when the kids would be suctioned especially the ones with trachs !!! EWWWWW, but that is my personal opinion I can do blood and urine perfectly fine the throw up grosses me out, but it does on my own children as well, but the worst was the suctioning .. Also you do know as RT they draw ABG's ???

That is a tough load to take, but you can defintley do it !!! I just got done with A&P II and I got an 89% so unfortunatly a B+, but I got that with having 2 children at home working nights at a hospital and going through a miscarriage that made me miss 2 weeks of school (that is what brought down my A) and my first semester of A&P I had a miscarriage that I missed the last 3 weeks of the semester and stilled pulled off an A in the class so YES it is possible .. If you want it bad enough you can get it !!!! Good luck to you,

The last hospital I worked at achieved Magnet status when I was working there and I know there where levels the nurses where on and it depended on BSN or ADN or MSN and that determined there pay and if they had only ADN they could not get a raise without getting there BSN, so that is weird they will only hire BSN ?? Oh well. Does anyone else know any other hospitals that have PICU or Amy I am pretty sure CICU is the same thing ?? Right ?? That is really the only place I want to work, maybe a pediatric ER, but I could only do children.. If anyone has any ideas ?? Thanks, Meaghan

Hi.. I got my acceptance letter for October 08 start date also but I am in the ADN program and then going right back to University of Phoenix for the BSN program.. I just want my degree then can do everything else online for finishing.. Someone mentioned getting a letter of acceptance to someone else ?!?! I had the same thing I got my letter than a girl named Danielle her acceptance letter also !! As for all the loans we have had a mortgage and sold our home in chicago but just to get a lower rate we are having my parents sign and we will pay each month now so it wont be as high when I graduate. It really is an investment for the future and once we are done with school we can start working !!! YEAH>.. My question is, for the people who live in Denver and work, does Childrens take ADN ??? I worked in an PICU in Chicago for 7 years so I have the nursing assistant experience, but obviously not the RN experience. DSON told me they do not hire ADN and they do not do clinicals there either ?? Just wondering how true that is ?? Also is anyone else going to be in my class ?? A lot are doing the BSN, but I have not heard about ADN ?? Thanks, Meaghan

Hi Tracey- THank you so much !! I am very nervous about starting and finishing. I just talked to the nursing advisor there and she said last class for the ADN of all the girls who took the NCLEX they had a 100% pass rate :) I felt releived on that part. Do you know if University of Colorado will take accept Denver nursing school credits if I wanted to finish my bachelors there?? Also I herad Denver CHildrens does not hire ADN nurses>??

Hi..I know this thread was a few months ago, but does anyone go to the Denver school of nursing now?? I heard they sold and I am supposed to attend next year! !! Also I was wondering if anyone knows anyone who graduated ?? Could they get a job easily?? Thanks, Meaghan
