Graduated from nursing school in 2002. Took the RN Nursing boards 3x's and failed. Took it for a 4th time recently and failed again. I'm so determined to be a Registered Nurse and I know that it will and shall come to pass one day.

    New Grads and Resumes

Im not saying because I took a test 7 years later makes me eligible to be hired, what I'm saying is I remain persistent and dedicated to the goals I am trying to accomplish. Believe me, this is what I was called to do. An every nurse recruiter that I have spoken with, I've explained that too. Youre not being cruel at all. I take constructive criticism very well. Right now the market is hard and competitive and I study what I need to do to get what I want. I'm currently enrolling myself in a refresher course, but I'm very particular where I get my education from. If I'm paying for it, I want the best!! I took a refresher course before when I was preparing for the boards and the course was garbage!! During clinicals, we learned absolutely nothing, I felt jipped and I reported it to the school. Hence my hesitancy... But I totally understand what you are saying. What I said in the note was brief. I've been commended on my tenacity and that's what keeps me going. I could've given up a loooong time ago, but that's not my character. I'm determined, steadfast, unshakeable and unmovable and i WILL get and do the things my heart desires. I have strong beliefs, principles, morals and values and it's just a matter of time before the door opens and I walk thru it!! Thanks for your post...it just motivates me even the more!!!

    New Grads and Resumes

Yes there is. I failed the board a number of times. Went into a different career (teaching high school) and then buckled down and took the boards again and passed. Nursing is what I REALLY want to do. So there is a gap between when I graduated and passed the boards. A 6.5/7 year gap! But I don't let that deter me from pursuing my goals. It was by persistence that allowed me to pass and I feel it will be my peersistence and tenacity that will land me a job in a hospital!!

    New Grads and Resumes

I am in the same boat as you. I graduated from Nursing School in Dec 2002 and just recently passed my boards in Aug 2009. It is so hard getting a job. Now I am starting to wonder if my resume needs tweeking!!

    Loosing Hope

Actually LunahRN, I am in the process of moving to Atlanta, GA and they offer a refresher course at Kennesaw State University. I e-mailed the director so i'm waiting on response. That was my next step. So yes, that was my next course of action. Thanks for the suggestion. It's just so hard when you have no income coming in. And I don't want to settle.

    Loosing Hope

I am loosing hope....it's fading in the distance. I graduated Nursing School in Dec 2002. I took the boards 4x's and finally passed them in Aug 2009. In betweeen I was teaching Health at a high school. I finally secured a position at a SNF, but I was laid off. Now it seems no recruiter or HR person is interested in hiring me since I'm an OLD GRAD!! At this point, I don't know what to do!! It's like you work so hard and life happens, things we can't control and you end up paying for it in the end....UNEMPLOYED. I did got to school and became a licensed esthetician, so I'm working at a waxing facility, but I AM A NURSE... A REGISTERED NURSE AT THAT!!! I am determined and I will keep applying and praying that someone can see that I am a hard worker and that Nursing is my passion. Any suggestions??

SOOOO Frustrated with Pearson Vue and NCLEX Score

I know exactly how u feel. I took the test on Aug 11th and found out that I passed thru quick results yesterday that I passed. For some reason Florida Board of Nursing take their time issuing licenses. My results still say WAIT on the website also. But like the previous poster said I'm just happy I passed. It's just the confirmation of knowing your name is there and your license is active. At least you have a job, I have to go thru the process of finding one here in Miami. But I'm a school teacher so work is not a problem. But I feel your frustration. Believe me!!!

Pearsonvue "Trick". Is this TRUE? Does it Work Every Time?

Just another confirmation that the trick works!!! I took my test on the 11th of Aug. The same day I did the trick, my results were on hold. On Wednesday evening when I last check I got the fampus "pop-up". Today I got my quick results and I am officially BSN, RN!! I praise God cause it was nobody but him. This was my 5th time taking the test and I passed. I cried so hard because this has been a 7 year journey, since December 2002 when I graduated from FAMU. I'm telling you, if I can do it, anybody can! My pastor called me his "hero" today when I told him. He said that because I never quit and I never gave up in what I believed. I almost did, but I never did!! You too shall pass. If God says it, he means it!! And he will do it!!

Pearsonvue "Trick". Is this TRUE? Does it Work Every Time?

I'm in Florida too and the FBON takes so long to post active licenses. A week almost. I took my test on Tuesday Aug 11 and I keep getting the pop-up yet I'm still soooo nervous. I don't know what to so with myself!! This is agonizing. I started at 10:45am and didn't finish until about 2:30pm. AHHHHHHH!!!! I just gotta know for sure!!

Pearsonvue "Trick". Is this TRUE? Does it Work Every Time?

ok..ok..ok...all day yesterday and up until a few minutes ago when i went to the pearson vue site to try the trick, i got the pop up "the candidate currently has test results that are on hold. a new registration cannot be created at this time." when i tried the trick a few minutes ago i got " our records indicate....contact your member board...another registration cannot be made at this time." this is somewhat of a stress reliever, but i have to wait until tomorrow for the unofficial/official results. but after reading all the threads of the people who got this pop up...i have faith!!!
