  1. I also graduated in May 2007, tested in August and failed and retook it in November and passed. It is natural to feel what you feel right now. One advise....you can always reschedule and regroup yourself. Focus on one (or possibly two, if needed) reviewer. I used Saunders combined with NCSBN on my second try and I passed with 75 questions. The first time I did Kaplan and failed with 265 questions. What helped me was that I went over and over the ones that I always have problems with. I prayed a lot....it helped me. Good luck to you.
  2. I DON'T KNOW WHY I CAN'T MAKE INDENTATION, SPACING, BOLD LETTERS, ETC....SO EXCUSE IF YOU'RE HAVING A HARD TIME READING THIS.I've been to two interviews last week. The first interview I went to I think went okay, but I am not too sure that I'll get that one. I was a bit rusty with my answers. The second interview with another hospital went really well. I got good feedback from the interviewers. From both interviews, they pretty much asked the same type of questions. Here are some that I can remember....not exactly the exact words, but something in this line...a) Tell me something about yourself.b) What made you decide to be a nurse?c) Tell me an incident while you were a student that made you say to yourself "This is the reason why I want to be a nurse." d) Tell me an incident while at clinical where you had a difficult day....how did you handle it? If you are faced with the same situation, how will you handle it now that you are a nurse?e) How do you handle stress?f) What are your strengths and weaknesses? How do you think you can improve?g) What are your short and long-term goals?h) What are the five rights of medication administration?i) Why do you want to work in this hospital? So far these are the ones I can remember. I will write more when I remember them. My advice to you is to be yourself. Don't forget to ask questions. Prepare them before your interview. Merry Christmas and Happy 2008 to all
  3. Hi Je_da, we're still here. I guess everyone's busy either taking a vacation or job searching. By the way I am doing both. I am taking it slow when it comes to job search, so it feels that I am still on vacation. I've had one interview on Monday and one tomorrow. Most of the new grad programs here in Southern CA don't start until February. How about you? How have you been? I wonder what everyone from our group been up to? Hope everyone does well!
  4. You've waited for so long, so finally it's over ha! I am sure you did fine. You're always in my prayers. Good luck and just relax for now.
  5. Like Je_da said, "Keep the faith." Don't lose hope, your turn to pass will come and you're right God has plans for you. Take a break for now. When you're ready to start studying, start off with reassessing your weaknesses. Some people just become very nervous during test taking.....maybe including exercise (if you don't already do that) will help release some anxiety. It worked for me! I am the most anxious person during exams. Eventhough I know I studied well, I totally lose it during test time. So when I reassess my weaknesses after failing the first time, I knew it was my test-taking anxiety that was getting in the way. Take care and God bless.
  6. We can track it by looking at past posts......if/when we have time to spare to do that. From what I know more than half of us have passed. Off the top of my head it's you, me, PedNurse, Je-da, Chocolate, McDreamy; there should be more.
  7. Congratulation Narine...Let's partyyyyyyyy. (I can't insert graphics for some reason - just imagine me dancing). Good luck in your career and always remember that God is behind your success.
  8. i am not on the original list, but was added later. i was one of the first ones who take the test. i had 75 questions and passed. good luck to all.
  9. You can check out NCSBN's website at http://www.learningext.com. Good luck.
  10. HELLO EVERYONE.......You probably think that I've forgotten about all of you. I've been so busy trying to catch up with so many things that I've neglected to do while studying for NCLEX-RN. I was reading the recent posts and am glad that everyone is supporting each other.......Congratulations Maria and the rest of November takers that have passed. For those that didn't pass - don't lose hope. I have experienced the same disappointment in the past, BUT, I rose up and declared that I could and would DO it. Have faith in yourself and of course, have faith in God who has plans for you. Good luck to the rest of November test-takers. JEDA, how was NY? Is that an early vacation before you head into your RN duties?
  11. Happy Thanksgiving to all! To all who have passed NCLEX, let's be thankful for our blessings. To all who have not been successful, do not lose hope, success will come in the right time. To those who are testing soon, let the Almighty provide you with confidence, readiness, and wisdom today, tomorrow, and the day of your test. Good luck to all.
  12. Same as BanzaiPipelineRN............I used NCSBN combined with Suzanne's plan (Saunders book and CD), I passed with 75 questions. I studied for 2.5 months and did at least 100 questions per day. NCSBN questions are what you'll see on NCLEX (not word for word, but it is that same format). To strengthen your content knowledge, Saunders has everything you need to know about basic nursing. Good luck.
  13. Born2bRN, don't feel depressed about not passing. I've been in the same situation before. Things happen for a reason. You may be hearing that from many people right now, but I can attest to you that God has a purpose for you. What you need to do now is to be positive. Your ability to be a nurse is not measured by how many times you took NCLEX, it is measured by your passion, your care, and your belief in the difference you could make in someone's life. Take some time off for now, relax, get some sleep, so you'll be ready to start rebuilding your confidence. Don't use negative words (such as failure...) but start off your day with prayers and positive thoughts. God bless you.
  14. Congratulations, Diahni, RN.........Let's pass on the power of prayer to the remaining November test takers.
  15. Good luck to tomorrows test-takers.........On behalf of all November test-takers who've already passed, I am spreading to you our blessings from the Almighty. Take your time reading the question, be calm, and pray, pray, pray---- it is very powerful. Good luck and let us know about your NCLEX experience.
