  1. I applied for NHSC loan repayment. My site score is a 17 and my DTI was around 120%. I received a finalist emial on 8/17 and had my contract signed off today!
  2. For those of you who received a finalist email a month or longer ago and are still waiting on coungersignature, did you apply to NHSC or Nurse Corp? I received a finalist email on 8/17/18- applied to NHSC and I'm still waiting. I think alot of the people who were notified of final award status and countersigned right away was through Nurse Corp. Thanks!
  3. Don't give up- I took the NCLEX today too. I don't know how to predict how close you were or not. I had around 17 SATA one med calculation and several contact precaution questions. I came home and did the pearson trick but forgot you had to go through the first few screens and select school before you get the popup- so when it went past the first screen I felt horrible, sick, ashamed, etc cause I thought I failed. It's a hard test- but you had to work hard and be smart to get to this point so just regroup and retake it when you feel you are ready.
  4. I am not planning on doing a Masters program in the near future so I haven't really looked into their programs in depth. I am focused on passing my last three exams this semester and getting through next semester first
  5. Trishajlee, Hi. I am currently a senior at UT in Houston and will graduate in December. I believe you are asking this so you can pick who's class to take (?) For each class there is one sometimes two (head) teachers. For example, this semester I am taking OB, Pediatrics and Nursing Leadership. OB has two main faculty over that subject and they alternate who teaches each lecture (and may bring in guest lecturers also)The other classes generally work like that also. All of the 100+ students who are accepted take the same classes together. Unless of course they do some major changes for the semester you start- but normally you don't "pick" a teacher- they teach all the students together the same day and time. Hope this helps!
  6. It means to private message me- just email it instead of posting it to this link :)
  7. I haven't taken a Math yet- I'm taking psychology of Statistics for that reason, Do what you feel you can handle and still come out with a good GPA- Math is not my best subject and apparently UT didn't mind I hadn't taken one... BTW Biogrl84- I think my overall GPA is 3.9 and science is 3.7
  8. Lilywhite, Nothing you listed is an obvious reason you didn't get in. Your scores sound good to me. Did you get an interview? If I were you I would try to contact someone on the admissions department and see if they have any suggestions on what you can try to improve upon incase you want to reapply for the Spring. Only the admissions committee can answer why they chose one person over another. With that being said- I would suggest trying to get some experience in the medical field (if you don't have any)- like take a CNA class. I also took Medical Terminology as an elective as well. Good luck and don't give up!
  9. pinkynbd_99 is right about spots opening up if you are waitlisted... I got my acceptance letter to Montgomery today but I applied somewhere else I also wanted to go & have already sent my letter of intent to the other college. So I'll be contacting Montgomery soon to let them know. My points were 11.43 I think.. Congratulations to those who were accepted and good luck!
  10. Thanks for the info... Once I get the book list from the school I may be getting in touch with you if you still have them.
  11. I think you should just apply to the Spring too. It can't hurt and if it were me I would always wonder if I could have made it in a semester earlier and why didn't I at least try. Also I'm pretty sure at saw at least one person on this thread who was accepted without having all of their prereq sciences finished (like A&P or Micro I can't remember) I don't have my statistics finished yet but I will before classes start....
  12. Congratulations and good luck to you!
  13. nhoward... Congratulations on being accepted to TWU!! I was going to apply there too and just see where I was accepted but I didn't have statistics completed and they said I had to in order to apply... Good Luck!!
  14. I recieved my "official" acceptance letter today also, I'm relieved their records were correct as to only the one prerequisite showing I still need to complete. I was a little worred with some of the problems some of you had. I'm excited to get started!!
  15. I don't mind... Sorry to hear you didn't make it in this time but good luck on the other schools you applied to!
  16. Thanks for getting it started... my request to join was sent!
  17. That's so true... we will all have to hit the ground running to be successful. Does anyone remember what a typical schedule would look like? I attended the Q&A sessions there too long ago to remember and I didn't retain much from the interview due to nerves :) How many days a week is the generic in class then in clinicals? The acceptance packet will probably state all that but I don't know how soon we'll receive it.
  18. Pretty Ladie-- I didn't apply to TWU- Only because I didn't have my statistic class complete in time so I couldn't apply...Good luck! As a running tally it looks like there was 5 people who posted on here who was accepted into the accelerated program and 10 who posted they were accepted into the Generic. We may meet each other soon! Oh and I never posted my stats... I was accepted into the Generic program My nursing prereq gpa was 3.9310 My science was 3.75 my undergraduate was 3.9320 My overall net score was 88% which was 96 percentile- I don't remember the break down.... I took all of my classes at Lonestar Montgomery (I still have to finish Statistics and I'm good to go)
  19. Hopefully we should be getting something soon. I know someone who said they received a letter in the mail from UT yesterday (they hadn't opened it yet- so I don't know what it was). Plus when my status changed it said acceptance packet has been mailed. I called today to the Registrar and the Health department to start having holds removed for CPR and things like that, I left a message for the Registrar's office and the health department said it's way to early to provide records of shots- I will have something in the acceptance packet to write my records on and I should send it in around May or June...
  20. So does anyone live North of Houston in Spring or Woodlands area?? I'm already thinking about transportation options!
  21. Thanks! I interviewed on February 4th, but I actually applied for the generic BSN not the accelerated. Good luck and hopefully you hear something soon- the UT link started turning yesterday for generic so it looks like they may be gradually updating people's status...
  22. I checked today on my work break and it showed I am accepted (provisionally- acceptance letter in the mail)!!! I'm so excited!!! Congratulations everyone that is accepted- I look forward to meeting everyone!
  23. Congratulations future AFnurse... Thanks for letting us know!! Mine still says pending I'll keep checking...
  24. Congratulations to all of you who made it into the accelerated program! It doesn't look like anyone has found out yet about the generic program- may still take anywhere from a few days to a week or more for us (I hope not)... Still crossing my fingers..... Oh- and Java Gabby, please accept summer so that leaves one more possible slot for me for the fall :) Just teasing!!!
