Missed Dosage Calc by two points!!!
at my school you have to make a 90%(20 questions) and we get 3 tries at it. I completely blew up the 1st test, I mean went BLANK, made a 75, 4 days later, took the 2nd test and made a 100%. Just take you some deep breaths before the exam and kick it's butt!

If it was before class, I wouldn't do anything. But if someone came to clinical stoned out of there mind, or drunk off there ass I would hope the instructor would do something.

Help 1st year RN student WITH TEST TAKING SKILLS
Something that helped me TREMENDOUSLY is covering up the answers. I use my scantron to hide the answers while I read the question. Then I jot down what answer first comes to mind, then I look at the answers.

CNA cert. required by Kentucky for Nursing students??
I'm starting my second semester of the ADN program at Eastern, and we do NOT have to get CNA certified. You might want to find out if BCTCS has a disablilites office (they should) and let them know of your hearing impairment. Maybe they will be a little more helpful than the 1st person you talked too. I can't help you out on which school is better, I havent researched it, but I do know Eastern has an excellent program, with an excellent pass rate. It may be worth the drive for you! Good luck!

LPN-RN at EKU?
girl if you can handle one husband and 7 kids, this nursing school shiz will be a breeze:loveya: I'm in the 2 yr associate degree program at Eastern. I'm pretty sure you have to take alot of the same classes, it is tough, but if you've got your mind set on it, it is definitely do-able! Good luck, and keep us posted on what you decide to do!

First death situation
I did my first clinical rotation last semester, my partner had a 90 something yr old pt that was just barely hanging on. I was ok with helping her, and keeping the lady as comfortable as possible, but this got me. They called the ladies family that morning and told them to get to the hospital as soon as they could, because she wasn't going to be able to hang on much longer. It was noon and nobody showed up. This completely broke my heart, I was in tears before we left (off to myself of course) my partner spent the day singing to the pt. and doing anything she could for her. It was a sad day

How Much in Student Loans Do YOU Have?
I'm 16 grand in debt right now, but I had to borrow to get the bills paid too. I'm happy for all of you that don't have to get loans, or just need money for school, but some of us have bills that HAVE to be paid. I got fired from a job I had for 9 years when I was 7 months pregnant. I had the option to go back to school, but unfortunately the bills still come in every month. With a newborn it would cost me more for daycare than what I could get paid to work part time while going to school. So I will argue until I'm blue in the face that my loans are GOOD debt:nurse:
