Nurse Mobbing/bullying
I have to tell you...this stuff scares the sh** out of me. After spending years at home being a mom and not being in the work force, it amazes me just how much I don't know. Is this problem unique to nursing, or other professions as well? It feels somewhat like being thrown into the lions den. How would a person protect themselves from things like this? It seems so monumentally unfair...for educated people who worked so hard to get where they are in the first place...forgive me for going on like this, it is just hard to fathom people like this who are supposed to be professionals can behave this way.

I hate Anatomy/Physiology class!
Thanks for your reply. I know what you mean. My instructor WILL NOT round up on grades, either, and I have an 89.3 for my grade so far. Even being that close to an A, he won't round up. He's this geriatric hippy type and all ego. I can't wait for this class to be over, and at this point, I don't even really care what grade I get!! Hang in there...

My buddy passed away today...
He was blessed to have a loving person like you there with him at the end of his life.

I hate Anatomy/Physiology class!
I am in the middle of Bio 202, anatomy/physiology class. It's my last, (thank the Lord), bio class I have to take and i hate every minute of it. I really think I am becoming burned out on school altogether and I'm finding it really hard to remember all of the facts we have to learn. It's scary, too, wondering how much of this stuff is necessary to work as an RN. (I still haven't made up my mind which to go into, yet, RN or rad tech). I'm scared of getting out there and not remembering something really important, or even what's really important, and making mistakes. I'm tired and overwhelmed...has anyone else felt that way?

elevated live enzymes and Lipitor
Thanks, Darla for writing. I don't know what his levels were before, or weather or not the doc checked. He is an occasional drinker, nothing heavy. I'm sure he's not drinking at all now, anyway.

elevated live enzymes and Lipitor
I have a question about Lipitor and it's effects on the liver. A friend of mine took Lipitor for 30 days for high cholesterol levels (285). After 30 days his cholesterol levels went down to 170, but his liver enzyme levels were elevated, so the doc took him off the drug. 30 days later, his enzyme levels are still elevated and the doc ordered a scan of his liver. What I want to know is, if the levels are still elevated, does that mean his liver has been damaged, or will the enzyme levels eventually return to normal? His doc said he could have just had a 'reaction' to the drug. What do you think? Have you heard of Lipitor causing permanent damage to the liver before? Thanks!

I need some good nursing advice
I have been very sick with bronchitis for over 4 weeks now, and my lungs have reacted badly with it. I have started fainting after coughing spells. someone called it reactive airway disease, although I don't have asthma. I am on all kinds of drugs...my third round of anitbiotics, prednisone, albuterol nebulizer, inhalers, you name it, and still my lungs don't want to seem to relax. I'm so tired of being sick, I'm starting to feel I will never get over this and I can't help feeling scared. Any advice on what more I can do to get better? Thanks

nursing, or radiology??
I need some advice. I am still trying to decide which to go into..nursing or radiology. My friends all want me to be with them in nursing school and I was even told by a school councelor that I should be a nurse instead of a rad tech because the field of nursing is "so broad". My heart says that what really interests me is medical imaging, but everyone else says I'll just get bored, and there is no where else to go if I'm a rad tech, because if I get tired of one area of nursing I can go into another, etc. But I have looked at the fields of nursing and I don't really see anything that interests me as much as rad tech. I love imaging, I've always been into photography, and I honestly don't think I'll get bored. But maybe I'm missing something and should listen to everyone else?? Your thoughts, please!!
