  1. This is GOOD advice! Yes, I have experience. I have been where you are now. I was a 91B1P and served with the 307th Medical Bn. (ABN); 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, NC. After separation, I became a civilian paramedic and stayed one for SEVERAL years. I finally went to RN school and graduated in 2003. Having been trained by the Army, I know that you know enough to get into an RN program and do very well. LPN/LVN is NOT where you want to be. Nothing against the LPN/LVN, but you have WAY too much training for that program. Go straight for the RN program. You'll thank yourself a thousand times over when you are done with it. WSH
  2. And I thought I was the only one. [banana]Outcast Club President[/banana] It still does not affect me much. I still show up and do my job. When it comes to a technical question, they still come to me, and I always help them.
  3. I'm with ya on that! I work with some major league BMs and there is no getting along with them. Just show up, do your job the very best that you can, and drive on. No one can fault you for that. Friends will come.
  4. Very interesting. I will have to submit this to our pharmacy.
  5. Go to a school that doesn't require it and it won't be a factor. Otherwise, buy the Kaplan book on the GRE, they are great.
  6. The University of South Alabama has an Emergency Nurse Practitioner program. http://www.southalabama.edu/nursing/enp.html Check them out.
  7. I think it really depends on what state you will want to practice in. In MS, it is better to be an NP. PAs are few and are tied directly to a physician. NPs can open their own clinic and run everything as long as they have a physician to audit their charts. MS was one of the last states to recognize PAs, so again, it is state dependent. WSH
  8. MLOS is right, besides does it matter THAT much? We know who we are and what we do. As long as we keep that straight, nothing else matters much. WSH
  9. Bullydawg, I think you are having a tracheal spasm, but it is a great article! :) WSH

I would like to know how you guys are handling VAP in your units? What is your pro-active approach to VAP. Do you have many/any occurrences? Thanks!! WSH
