  1. Keep your head up, caribbeanbeauty. I will keep you in my prayer.
  2. Hi, Everyone: This is my third PPD in the past five years, and it became Positive all of sudden. The NP said that I definitely had a reaction, and the induration is close to 10mm, and she was sure it's a positive. She recommend me to go to a infectious disease clinic and let the experts to confirm whether it's a positive or negative. The thing is I am 6 weeks pregnant and can't have X ray at the moment. I am so puzzled. By the way, I need the TB for my new job. It makes harder especially for my situation: new job, new positive PPD and being pregnant at the same time. I haven't even started my orientation at the job yet. Give me some suggestions, please. I desperately need it. Thanks in advance. Am I able to work before the Chest X ray takes place? I probably should inform my employer, right?
  3. Cherilee, I am a new graduate and looking for a job. I posted my resume on Monster.com, but I didn't get any phone call from anyone yet. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  4. Thank you all for your helpful advices. I had my shadow day on Mon and followed by an interview. It went well in general. Anyway, I am still waiting for them to respond. I will keep you updated and post the interview process once I hear from them.
  5. Thanks a lot, Pat. Those are great advise. I just got informed that the interview would be before the shadowing. Do you have any suggestions on what kind of questions they will ask? What are the benefits working in an OR in your opinion? Thanks!
  6. Hello, Everyone: I was asked by a nurse manager to come in for a shadow day for their main OR without an interview beforehand. I am wondering if anyone has any experience or suggestions about it? Any suggestions are helpful at this point. For example, what should I prepare? What kind of questions should I ask? What should I wear? Thanks in advance.
  7. Hello, Everyone: I was asked to go in for a shadow day for the main ER in a big teaching hospital. I have no idea what should I do and what should I wear. I didn't get a interview from them yet. Any suggestions? I desperately need them. Thanks a lot.
  8. Thanks for all of your reply, Sumdae, Adrienne and Beck. I will check the two colleges that you recommend. It's good to know that Simmons and Curry college offer RN-BSN programs. Adrienne, thanks for your helpful advice, I will check the web site.
  9. Wizard, I will keep you in my prayer. I think you still have hope because you got so many medication and priority questions. Keep us posted.
  10. Yoko: I went to several different places for my clinical including: BWH, Youville, Spaulding rehab, a nursing home in east Boston, and a long term pediatric center in Billirica. I liked my experience in BWH, it's a great hospital to work at. The first semester wasn't bad at all, but it took me some time to get used to the pace. The second semester seemed like the hardest one, almost one third of the class failed. The remaining two semesters went well and we didn't lose anyone. As long as you study hard, you will be fine. Let me know if you need any help in the future.
  11. Hi, Babylove: I graduated from BHCC this summer and I have enjoyed it. Good luck with your study, it's a great program.
  12. Hi, everyone: I just got my RN license and am thinking to start my RN_BSN journey. I only know few schools offer this track such as Umass Boston and Northeastern. Any other school out there to choose? Which one do you recommend? Another questions is I am in the process of job searching and will call nurse recruiters in different hospitals. But I am not sure what is a polite way to ask. And someone mentioned it's better to find out the nurse manager's name on the floor that you are applying for, but how? Sorry to ask too many questions, and thank you in advance for your reply.
  13. Iel: I did go over my note during last week and did not do too much questions, maybe 100 questions a day. I made sure I got enough rest and sleep, eat well. Just relax and pray a lot, I have faith in you that you will pass.
  14. I will keep you in my prayer, imhopeful. Your test sounds like a good indicator with lots of higher level of questions. Keep us updated.
  15. I am glad to see everybody is still around and we should support each other until all of us find a job placement. I just passed my test and my name is on the MA BON today, so happy. I will start my job searching from next week, prepare my CV and cover letter, and then call the nurse recruiter of the hospitals. Does that sound a good way to do? I wish we can share some of the interview tips, experience, good web sites, questions and answers that you had at your interview, etc. That would be great help. God bless everybody in the family.
  16. Je_da: Thank you very much especially. I finally passed my test and just found out today. Thank you for your encouragement, pray, and support.
  17. Hi, Nov family: I passed my test with 76 questions, so happy!!!!!!!!! Thank you for all of your support and praying.
  18. Wizard, I was trying to organize my thoughts since I am still in total disbelief of the fact that I passed. Here is what I did this time: I studied Saunders for contents, did the first tip of Suzanne's plan. I made a little change that is even though I got 75% on the quiz, I still go back to read the chapter. I jog down those pyramid points and things I don't know in a notebook and review it when I have time. At the same time, I do the questions from Saunder's Cd. If I get a lower score on a particular area, I would find some more questions from Saunder's Q&A Cd or Mosby's. After I finish doing questions, that was three weeks from my test date. I read Kaplan strategies book for a week, did the practice questions that come with the book and the cd, went over those strategies over and over. I spend my second week for Kaplan Qtrainer 1-5 and review the rationales over and over. The last week I did Kaplan Qtrainer 6-7 and priority and delegation book. From all of these books, I like the saunders best, it gives you solid knowledge base. But if you want to practice more critical thinking questions, I think Kaplan is the best. The difficulty level of the questions from Kaplan is so similar to the NCLEX. So when I was taking my test, I felt like doing one of the Qtrainer. I suggest after you do the saunders then do the kaplan. I remember one of the post in this forum, somebody give a link to download Kaplan Qtrainer for free, but I didn't have that web address bookmarked. Maybe you can try by search in the forum to see if it's still valid. It's a old post, 2 or 3 years before. The PDA (priority and delegation) book is very helpful for my test since majority of the questions are this type. I highly recommend this book, you can get it from bookstore or amazon. I spend two and half months, studied 6 hours average everyday with lots of praying too. Just study hard and pray hard.
  19. Hello, everyone: I just passed my NCLEX RN and felt so happy. From next week, I will start to look for jobs. I have heard that the market doesn't look good and it's hard to find a position in hospitals in town. I have no idea what to start. Anybody can give me guidance where to start, I would be greatly appreciate any of your advice. Thank you in advance!
  20. Thank you everyone for your sweet words. Now I am still in total disbelieve, on the other hand, enjoy the happiness and thank God. I am walking on the street and can't help to laugh and wanted to tell everyone that I passed, going crazy. Now I will take two days off this weekend to celebrate and then back on track for the job searching. Anyone knows if allnurses has a forum for job searching tips, e.g. writing resumes, cover letters and interview tips. Or any other useful website would be helpful for me. Thanks again. Tflorn, I wish you can be here to share my joy and give me a big hug too, but I felt your heart. Did you find a job yet? We will keep in touch with each other and share some experience with job searching too. I am pretty sure I will need your suggestions then.
  21. I just found out that I passed my test, thank you, Tflorn and Iel for your wonderful support and encouragements. Espcially to Tflorn, I can't use any words to express how much I appreciate your help, you are my motivation and helped me a lot to pass my test. Millions of thanks. You are such a wonderful person. Keep in touch in the future, if you ever coming to Boston someday, make sure to let me know.
  22. I passed my test, thanks everyone for your prayings and supports. To God be the glory, HE answered my prayers. Congratulations to shara_su and everyone in the Dec family who passed the test, and lots of encouragements to whoever is in process of preparing for the test, I believe everyone's turn will come. Just study hard, pray hard, that's all you need to do. I will keep your guys in my prayer and God bless everyone in the family will pass their tests.
  23. Thank you so much, Tflorn! I know you will be there for me anytime I need help. I am so glad to know people like you in this forum, you guys are so wonderful and supportive. Yes, I will keep you updated.Thank you for your prayers.
  24. Thank you for your reply, Iel. I know the following two to three hours are very difficult to me, but your words encouraged me a lot. I will try to stay positive as much as I can. I will keep you updated with my results.
  25. It's been 45 hours since I left the testing center on Wed, but the result is still not available yet. I am so nervous, had 76 questions with 4 SATA, lots of meds, priority, who to see first, 3 drug cal. I saw a lot of people passed with more SATA questions, I am thinking maybe I got too little of those questions which is not a good sign.Does anybody had similar kind of questions and stopped at 76 and passed. I need your support. This waiting period is killing me, I feel nausea all the time, couldn't eat, it's like post distress syndrom. I can't wait to see my rusult, but on the other hand, I am very nervous to see. I will let my husband to check the result for me. Thanks everyone to let me vent.
