  1. @milaeslehc that was very inspiring :)
  2. We were going home from our graveyard shift (as student nurse) in medical ICU when our clinical instructor checked the patient assigned to me and asked me to fix the bed of the patient before we went home. My patient asked for something (my patient is a CVA pt.) Pt: "could you give me 'saging' (banana in English)?" (my patient was pointing on the side table..) Me: "saging po?" (asked my patient then handed the banana to my patient. suddenly, my patient laughed and pointed on the eyeglasses (salamin) at the side table.) =) after that incident, the staff nurse, my clinical instructor, one or two of my group mates, my patient and me laughed:D
  3. thank you misspowers I think, I'll think very well for the white lies that I would tell them in order to work in their company or in a call center thank you very much again
  4. wow. I admired all your dreams. as for my plans, first, to be a RN by August 2008 second, I'm currently having my review in English Conversation Fluency in SP (just taking the chance - because I have 1 year free review. I just enrolled in that course last year. and also, that would help me in preparing myself for a job interview.) third, to find a job - as a call center agent (to be more at ease in speaking the language/to develop my conversation fluency using the English language. It might also help me in IELTS. I also want to earn already, be somewhat independent and to buy and do the things that I want.) I might also enroll in a training of Redcross while waiting for the result of the job interview. fourth, to find a job as a RN - after I get my license. and if I can't get a job as a RN, I'll continue with my job in a call center. fifth, I also want to enhance the other aspect of myself. I love nursing - I love what I had learned and experienced in this field. Yes, I graduated BSN, but I don't want to locked myself in just one area. I want to try interior designing too (even though I'm not good in drawing. I'm kinda afraid in taking that course. but I want to try it.) I also want to save up for voice and cooking lesson, and a seminar in photography. I don't know, but I really want to learn a lot of things. I want to learn things that I could use and also, as a personal growth - I love learning. But my fifth plan would come true after I had saved up enough money and I think, I'm already working in a hospital by that time (because after working in a call center, I want to work in a hospital for a year or two.) sixth, I would also attend seminars in nursing or do anything that would update myself in the profession. seventh, I want to work as a nurse in Australia (I really want to stay in NZ--my dream.. after I saw the documentary in that country 4+ years ago..but mom told me that I don't know anyone there, unlike in Australia, my Aunt and her family are there. I know, I could visit that country when I'm an Australia - they're near each other.) I also want to travel in a lot of places here on Earth. eight, I would go back here in the Philippines and work as a nurse and help those who are in need of my service after I saved up enough money to build an apartment (as a source of living) and to live here already.. those are my plans.. :) I hope that they would come true. I would really work hard for it. thank you for this thread.. I love reading the dreams of other people..
  5. thank you very much for the replies. :) Um..there's really no way to work as a nurse in Australia if you don't have professional experience?
  6. ms. Suzanne, I also had a question concerning this topic. I don't know where should I start. I'm just a newly grad here in the Philippines. I plan of working in Australia (specially Sydney because my Aunt and her family are there). Um... can I first work as a volunteer nurse in Australia and had my training there (Is there a school who would train nurses from foreign country?) Also, how much is the training? Thank you very much.

  8. Hello! :) I respect everyone's opinion Um.. I know that I'm biased if I'll say that Merge is a good review center. But, really, it is.. I reviewed here last April to May 2008, and based on my experience, I had a great time in this review center and I also learn a lot (knowledge that I wasn't able to learn in school). They treated us well (I love their treatment.. "alagang-alaga" :) They alot 2 Review assistants/R.As per section that would guide us, hear our concerns, caught the attention of our classmate if they've seen one who is not attentive/sleeping, report to their superior about the section, etc.) and their reviewers are good. Their pre-board really prepared us for the actual board examination. There's a balance of fun and learning in this review center. :) But our schedule is somewhat hard/hectic: 8am-5pm Monday-Sunday (but sometimes, we have a review breather - but for 2months, we only had 4 review breathers?). - but I think, next season's schedule is much better. as for the ratio, 1 reviewer: 200 (but I heard in other section, they had 300+ max. but in our section, there are only 148 students; we're missionary section because of venue's fault, so doc adjusted or deducted the number of students from 200 down to 148 :)) Um..the years of experience as a Student nurse would help a lot in the exam. Review centers are just there to guide us or to supplement our knowledge in this field. I hope that I was able to help you. Good luck! :)
