I waited and utilized online Kaplan study plan took the test 3 months later...passed, so I do not feel time is of the essence, take it when you feel you are ready and prepared.

I am with you, I became an LPN in 1984 and there were rumors of being grandfathered into the ADN/ASN... never happened. The university in my state rid themselves of the ASN program ( to BSN only) 5 years ago or so and guess what. Yes, they have started it all over again and are now doing the bridge program LPN- ASN. So the nursing shortage will not stop ASN and to say that by 2010 it will be a BSN necesity, I will beleive it when I see it.

NO, I would not encourage my daughter; who is a senior and asked me about nursing. I was truthful and explained to her, if you feel you should want to be a nurse O.K. but do not pattern yourself after me. Nursing is something that you have to feel, and is not for everyone, forget the fringe benefits and I as I have told her it is not glamarous like on television. This career honestly takes a special person.

Please do not feel beat, I recently took the NCLEX and it stopped @ 78 questions. I felt nervous truthfully panicked, "78- questions" but however I passed . My friend had 75 and she passed. Have faith.... as for telling your employer, that's up to you. I myself got tired of people asking me when I was taking the boards (I was an fulltime working LPN) and I did not tell any of my co-workers because they had too much advice/instruction to give. Wait with anxiety 75 questions does not mean you failed. Hang in there.:up:

I am going to have to agree with you the program is definitely unorganized and I can say that I was "stuck" because their creidts do not tranfer however I graduated and would not recommend the program to anyone... WHY.. because you get no help when you need and they want the money, all of it it or else. You get no direction from your instructors and do not try to leave a message or email them you are wasting your time. I suffered the whole time wnd the changes would come in the middle or the end of a trimester; the student would have no choice but to take the change or get out but leave your money. You do not have an mentor or an advocate for the student, we had to support each other, encourage each other as we were in the online program in different states but "WE" mentored each other, so if you do not have a tight bond with your online friends/ extended fmaily you are "screwed".... think about t. I am not angry with the program but very disappointed.

Just graduated from this college of nursing and according to rumor theyare not going to take anyore out of state students but you can call this number and ask 1-800- 942-4310, however I would not recommend this scholl...try st. louis commuity college which is within walking distance of chamberlain. I hear it is more organized than Chamberlain and they change the rules as they go along and you become very frustrated ... need I say more.
