  1. it really depends on which campus you are attending. i attend anderson and we had a contract with a store in muncie. we got 2 pants, 2 tops, and nursing kit for $100.00. actually all you have to get a the pants and tops and they are regular scrubs. that would probably run $30.00 per set. hope this helps!!! good luck coco:)
  2. since i am starting my second year of nursing school, i find comfort in the knowledge that most of your patients survive no matter what you do to them. makes me feel a whole lot better!!! lol!!!!!!! coco
  3. i am currently an aide for an indpls hospice company. the pay is great and the stress level is a little lower than ltc. typically i start at 8:30am by visiting a home pt and go from there. i usually spend an hour to an hour and a half with each pt, whether at home or in a facility. i usually see 6-8 pts a day and give them showers, baths, feed meals or just talk or play games with them. it is nice because i can spend one on one time with all of my pts, because i know that the pts in facilities cannot get one on one care. (not facilities fault, too little staff for pts) i always say, "if i get a smile out of a pt, i have done my job for the day!" coco;)
  4. A normal day for a RNCM is full and extremely busy. They do have a set schedule of patients to see everyday (NH and homes). While seeing your scheduled patients you may have to check on others d/t decline or crisis, and check or order meds for patients. However, some days are easier, there is never a "routine day" in hospice. Patients conditions can change at the drop of a hat, and therefore, so can a schedule!! Hospice is a very hard line of work, but for me it has been a great experience!~~~~GOOD LUCK Coco
  5. Where are you located? I do have one that I would be more than happy to get rid of!!! Just let me know! Coco
  6. congrats!!!! i got into the pn program this fall at ivy tech anderson. i was no nervous, especially after receiving my "rejection" letter for the asn program. good luck!!!! ----don't be discouraged....my teas score was an 84!!!!! coco
  7. oh yeah it can be done. however you must be willing to be tired and lose a lot of sleep. right now i am in a nursing program, work full time and take care of my two toddlers. i will not lie....it is super hard, but in the end it will all be worth it!! (maybe then i can catch up on sleep!!!) good luck:lol2: coco
  8. I applied at Ivy Tech (a Community College in Indiana). I was tested over Math--alg, trig, geo, and metric convers. English--punc., spelling, and sent structure. Reading--comp. Science--earth, bio, chem, physics, ana & phys, and micro. The science was the toughest for me because it had all aspects of the subject. Hope this helps! Coco;)
  9. I took the TEAS test this spring. There is a study guide available and a website to help you study. www.testpreview.com These two sources will give you a pretty good idea of what to expect. And for the record----it is kind of hard!!! Coco
