  2. To cris88 and danceinstructor: Hi! Where are you from? Are you starting to comply with the required immunizations? I havent started mine. 3. Hi guys, i already received my LOE just now. Ahpra-vic received my documents april 22 they asked for additional documents may 10, i was able to send it may 15, and just today, they send my eligibility letter. I just have a question, will it be possible to find a school who will still accomodate me this year? Thanks! :) patience is really a virtue!
  4. this was really helpful! i bet you got the slot! congratulations, your dream is within your reach already! :)
  5. Thanks tokiya in starting this thread! I was thinking about this already.. Good thing, you initiated! :)

  8. To bunnyRN, allow me to answer some of your questions:1. How many days a week do you have duty?2. How many hours per shift?3. Do they train you for only one area?I worked in SLMC for three years, just Recently passed my resignation. Anyways, their NSET program hasnt changed since then (I dont know this year)..But based on my experience and based on the experience of my senior nurses there and my trainees, we had the same NSET course or program. For the first month you will have a didactic phase, school hours 8am to 4pm or 5pm if im not mistaken, that is from monday to friday That will cover different topics from the basics to the diseases. And also includes return demonstration of different nursing procedures (of course they will teach you first). This is some sort of refresher course which I think is good especially for those who have no experience or for those who have been away from the nursing field for a while. Since you will be oriented in the ideal way or St. Luke's way and you will be using in the demo the same materials or equipments that you will encounter in the hospital, you have to remember everything. After this, you will have different trainings, BLS etc. During the entire didactic phase, you will will be going to SLMC from monday to friday 8am to 4pm. Then OJT phase, you will have your rotation in two different areas either in am(6-2) or pm(2-10) shift and again monday to friday. Guys, im telling you, the training in SLMC is all worth it. So if i were you, if you will be given this oppurtunity to work there, go grab it!
  9. I am an IEN from the Philippines. I just received my SEC result. And SRNA requires me to take some courses from ONCIEN program in SIAST.1. I just want to know if anyone had experienced already some of the courses in ONCIEN?2. If there are anyone here in the same boat with me? (I hope!)3. Also, I want to know the duration of each course. Oh by the way, I read it already from SIAST the number of hours for each course. But What I want to know is how long does the Clinical Experience for IENs will take, it says 240 hours but How many hours per day and weeks duration? Did you wait for a long time before being admitted since they have to complete four students before starting the laboratory and clinical experience courses? 4. And how was the online courses? I am planning to study full time so do you think I can finish each online course within five days if I am going to devote most of my time on working on it?Thank you! Hoping somebody would enlighten me on this matter. And, I also hope there's someone here on the same process with me. We can help each other figure everything out..
  10. Hi! Are you finished with your assessment already? I will be taking mine soon..
  11. hi there.. im currently undergoing training in SLMC.. and they've been using this infusion pump, and also, they have this enteral pump for NGT feeding..
  12. count me in!
  13. hi..no definite date yet.. but i know, SOON.. :chuckle according to my friend who has been included in the sept batch, the next batch of training will start on oct 20.. hehehe... for the meantime, spend your weekdays with your family, because as soon as we start working, we'll miss all the family gatherings, affair and the like.. and also, kindly inform me when maam gianna texted u already? thank you very much..
  14. hi again. i just took the computer based assessment.. it's a combination of personality test, a bit of IQ test and test of grammar skills.. no need to worry, very easy.. :heartbeat
  15. hi.. wat's the assessment test that you are referring to? is it like a nursing aptitude test or NCLEX-like since it will be computer-based? thanks.. because i had not taken that thing.. thanks again.. :wink2:
  16. hi.. it's only a week.. wait until 1 month before you lose hope.. God is good!
  17. hi.. i have answered those questions several times in other threads.. again, in technical interview(this is based on my experience), you would be with other applicants, maybe 5 or 6 and there will be two interviewers the entire interview would focus on core competencies of nurses.. for example, core #1 is safe and effective care.. the interviewers would throw different scenarios on this topic for each of you, and would ask you wat are you going to do if you are in that situation.. get it? i think there are 10 core competencies (correct me if im wrong) so all in all, there would be 10 questions for each of you excluding the follow up questions for your answers.. the questions are essay type, like what i have said, these are basic scenarios or situations...so whether u have previous experience or you dont have any, you will be able to answer it... believe me..
  18. hi.. :pthe questions are essay type.. they would throw out situations:nurse: and then, would ask you, wat are you going to do with those instances.. but the whole interview would focus on core competencies of nurses.. for example, 1st core is safe and effective care. you would be in a panel with other applicants, and the main topic is safe and effective care, but the interviewers would throw different scenarios to all applicants.. there are 10 core competencies if im not mistaken, so that would be 10 questions for each of the applicants but that depends if there would be follow up questions based on your initial answer.. :heartbeat:heartbeathope this helps!:heartbeat:heartbeat
  19. hi.. we're on the same boat.. i had my tech interview last august27.. and passed the other requirements last sept1. and they told me also that i will be included in the october batch.. by the way, do u know someone who will be with you on october batch of training?
  20. me either, i still dont have any experience.. i was hired by a hospital here in our province, and i have started for a week, but the thing there is that one week was just the orientation period that's why i cant say that i have gained hospital experience for that matter.. after that week, i received a call from st.luke's, and when i was interviewed, they immediately told me that i passed the interview so i resigned from the hospital here in our province.. il be starting on october.. because the september batch is already full.. i think if i answered the questions purely based on what I've learned from the books, i think you too can!:loveya:
  21. the next batch will be on sept 22.. but i think the sept batch are already complete.. i passed my requirements yesterday and they told me that I will be included in the october batch of trainees already..
  22. Thanks! I got a good feedback too from the HR personnel when I was interviewed initially and she told me to study from the moment I leave the room since the technical interview will be very tough. The technical interview will be a panel interview also. Meaning, it's either you will be the best or worst among your co-interviewees.. it will be better if you will win the criteria of the interviewers.. All you need is bunch of confidence! hehe.. remember little anxiety is okay but dont let your anxiety puts you down:no:, remember to smile and relax when it's your time to answer the question.. the questions are essay-type, I mean the two nurses will throw situations and will ask you what are you going to do with those situations.. but the whole interview will focus on core competencies of nurses.. the key there is not only to answer the questions right but also to answer with confidence and in straight english..
  23. hi guyz.. dont lose hope.. they will surely call.. just want to share my experience. i passed my resume last week of june, i was interviewed initially july 23.. see, it's been a month before i was scheduled for an initial interview.. after the initial interview, HR personnel told me to give them 2-3 weeks to call or send a message.. after 3 weeks of waiting, i pursued a job here in our province because I thought SLMC-GC would not call anymore.. but I was wrong, they texted me august 21 inviting me for a technical interview on august 27.. since Im already working as a nurse trainee here in our province, I requested an off for that day.. and so i was interviewed last wed, and i passed! im already done also with my medical, il go there on monday to know the results and pass the other requirements.. God is always Good!
  24. the initial interview would be with the HR first.. so the questions would just be the usual stuffs about yourself and your background.. :wink2: after that you need to be prepared for the technical interview which includes stuffs about nursing..
