  1. When I worked in the hospital on the tele unit digital bp machines were not allowed. They were removed from the unit and only used if 2 or more people were unable to obtain a bp. I work LTC now and we only use digital.

I totally agree. Sounds like you are doing a great job.
  3. I'm sure you did fine. Being observed by the state is so nerve racking.
  4. Congrats on graduating!! Definitely bring a small notebook to keep in your pocket. If you can find a 4 color pen bring that as well. Scissors and stethoscope. Good luck on your first day!!
  5. Where I live ( Westchester County, NY ) LPN's are still hired in some of the local community hospitals. I worked in one ( Med surg and telemetry ) for 6 yrs. Don't get too discouraged. LTC/rehab is also a great place to get very good and very real hands on experience. And the money as an LPN is much better than a tech.
  6. Maybe they work in an area where they don't have a lot of pt contact?
  7. HI!! I live and work in Westchester County. Hospital = $22 - $25 an hour, although most hospitals aren't hiring LPNs around here right now. LTC = $25 - $30 an hour. Agency = $28 - $35 an hour. Home care = $26 - $35 an hour. Not great when you consider what the cost of living is around here.
