Info on Orlando area LPN programs
i am currently in the orlando tech program and i must say it is a very good program. the program is definitely difficult but the passing score for the nclex on the first try is like 96-97%. you get alot of clinical experience (actually more than alot of rn programs in the area) and the price is great. for the whole year with books and unform it is like 4,500. the program is a 12 month program and you are off the same days as orange county schools. let me know if you would like more information. :nuke:

New Here... Looking for Nursing School
:nuke:hi, i took my pre-reqs in vcc and decided to cancel on the waiting list. i decided to go to orlando tech and am doing the lpn program. i am almost half way done and the best part about it is that there is no waiting list for the lpn to rn bridge at vcc, you just have to have your pre-reqs done. doing this route did not make it longer because the bridge program is just one year (so it still comes out to a 2 year program without the waiting) we have many people who have done the bridge not only to vcc but scc and they said it was very easy. i know for vcc's bridge most of the program is online and you only have clinicals once a week. because of that all the lpn's from otech that did the bridge worked as lpn's and got alot of experience and good pay while doing the bridge. if you want any information or have questions let me know! good luck in your decisions!!! :wink2:

Orlando Tech... new here
So nice to have found someone attending the same schools. I am actually on the waiting list for September. She told me to call Tuesday and see if people cancelled. So hopefully I will start with you. I have only taken 4 prereq classes for the RN program. My first semester was this summer. Next week are finals. Could you inform me on how the orientation goes? Thanks for the reply. Good luck.

Thanks for the heads up. I have heard good things about Orlando Tech you are the first to tell me about the bad stuff. I saw the passing rate for the NCLEX was great? Even thought it was unorganized did you think they taught you enough to get you ready for the NLCEX. Also I was wondering if you could tell me how the schedule worked as far as the clinicals and hours and stuff. Thanks so much for the info. By the way are there any other programs in the area you would recommend?

CDE Salary
hi there i am currently a nursing student in central florida and we happen to talk about cde salaries today because we were learning about diabetes. i was amazed to see what they pay in other places because my professor stated that she knows many nurses who are working for endocrinologists and are making $75.00- $85.00 an hour. she stated that endocrinologists love to hire rn's who are cde certified because they cover about 75% of what he/she has to do with their diabetic patients therefore, taking a huge load off of them. she said the hours are great for anyone with families and you make more in 20 hours what you would working full time. she also stated there are cde's who work for more than one doctor and make amazing money!!!
