  1. Got some questions for you guys... I tries applying for canada immigrant visa but didn't meet the 67 points minimum requirements since I have less than a year of work experience as a staff nurse here in the philippines.. REcently the consultancy firm emailed me that I can go via the UK route in going to canada.. They want me to take up Post Graduate Diploma in International Health Management at St. Patricks College for 18 months.. This way it can add up on points for my next Canada assessment.. Is this true? I can also have the chance to take up the board exams for nurses in UK after taking up this course. True or not?? Is St. Patrick's college a good school in Uk.? Here is the complete email they sent to me -- Is their some truth to this statement... Thanks..SO what's your assesment guys...
  2. Regarding CRNBC.... Did they follow the recent change in Ielts band scoring implemented by CIC (citizen and immigration canada) ? This were the new minimum band scoring guidelines used by CIC .. Listening 7.5, speaking, reading, and writing 6.5 for IELTS...
  3. Please evaluate my IELTS results.. Speaking 6.5 Listening 7.5 Reading 8.0 Writing 7.0 Average band 7.5 Will I qualify applying to CRNBC or prince edward island or manitoba or ontario and/or maybe saskachewan? I've heard CIC (Citizen and immigration canada) have change their Ielts requirements for applicants for the year 2010... This were the new minimum scores.. Listening 7.5, reading 6.5, writing 6.5, speaking 6.5 Will CIC'S new minimum score also the standard being use by the provincial regulatory bodies???
  4. Naaahhhh you are ultimately responsible for your settlement funds (if their is any).. Regarding "employment verification" Pinoycare is not into direct hiring. They don't have any tie-ups with employers who hire nurses in Canada. Their main job is to give you a visa which you can process by yourself anyways... Thanks for your advice... I'll look up around this 3 atlantic provinces you've mention..
  5. I totally agree with you fiona59... If our forefathers can do it then why can't we..... Right now i'm in the process of choosing which province to apply.. I've read in other forums that some provinces have stop or Minimize hiring of IEN'S .. Hope I can still find a good employer.. It's just a matter of Having faith in yourself and in god. Right now I've just received my IELTS results and thank goodness I pass and got the minimum requirements for canada in Reading,Writing, Listening, and speaking...
  6. You will never be denied because of wrong documentation and presentation.. If some information is missing then the embassy will gladly return the documents for you to fill-out again the missing information. Just time delayed.. What presentation do you mean??? The application forms were very short ...
  7. 6. Money again - this one is for the CRNE fee (485), and if you wanna apply for the interim permit (you need an employer for this, and the fee is 35/mo) -- Exactly how do we find an employer in BC? Can anyone give links to hospital directories...
  8. pardon my ignorance :specs: ...... Yes the regional municipality of Waterloo is what i mean.... Ah ok.. So applying first for an eligibility in a province is the first step... Let's see ....
  9. Thanks for the reply silverdragon.. Actually I like Waterloo province.. One hour away from toronto.. Most say that it got the big city appeal with a small town atmosphere. .. I like that. Expenses also were not that big compared to big cities like toronto and vancouver. Did I say that it is only one hour away from toronto? My favorite city in Canada. Lately, due to the many difficulties encountered by international nurses , i don't have preferences as to which province I really want to belong. For as long as I can find a job and start my nursing career then that's fine with me.. Finding a job is my first priority. Leisure and personal recreational activities can take a backseat. You can always relocate in the near future to a province of your choice when demand starts to come again. What will be my chances if let's say I apply in the city of Vancouver or in Saskatoon? Your reply will be of great help thanks and godbless..
  10. Any suggestions on which province will I apply with? .. One which has less hiring freezes and has opportunities for international nurses like me.... one last thing. which should I do first? find an employer or apply for registration in a specific province.. I do this myself.
  11. Can anyone guide us on how to migrate to canada as a nurse without the help of agencies... Using agencies can be a bit expensive.. What is the success rate of doing it alone compared to using an agency for immigration? Please tell us the step by step process.. This is a sort of a do it yourself manual.. Example. It is my greatest dream to work in Toronto as a nurse... What should I do first to jumpstart my application?... Should I go the Provinvial Nominee program route (PNP)? I almost have a year of hospital experience. Please help..
  12. it can contribute.. When you work at PNRC as a phlebotomist, you are given a certificate if you made 300 successful blood withdrawal.... It can surely help if you work in hospitals here in the philippines.. Ii can also help when applying for work abroad... PNRC is recognize around the world and having a certificate of 300 successful blood withdrawals from them will surely be a plus during job interviews..
  13. Are you insinuating that I am planning to go to Canada Illegally??? Let me expound my original simple sentence!!!!!!! What I mean by this is that which province do you think is the easiest to live. The easiest to "GET IN". The province in which we can readily adapt culturally and physically. This includes the place in which many pinoys live, The weather, crime rate, recreation, people, culture and the language. In other words the place in which we can easily blend with the local community. In the same way another pinoy will ask an american "Which province do you think we can easily get it?" The American will answer California specifically San Francisco.. Since San Francisco has many pinoys and the weather is good, the crowd is great etc etc etc... I'm expecting an answer more or less in this context which sentence of mind tells that I am desperate and I wanna take shortcuts?? Again you are insinuating something that I'm planning to go there by hook or by crook.. Do you think am stupid to ask illegal questions in the allnurses forum?? In reality, yes I am desperate to go to Canada.. But I wanna do it Legally and within the rules of Canadian and Philippine Law. Since I'm already giving a bad impression to you, let me say something. I'm going to Canada to work legally as a nurse "hopefully soon" .. I'll impress my client, the staff, the college of nurses, the people with my dedication and hardwork.
  14. So which province do you think is the easiest to get in??
  15. This is what they have also told us about.. In my opinion, they really don't have a fix price and their processing fee may go higher or lower as they wish... I have been told to shell out at least an average of P160,000 pesos all in all for permanent visa application and this includes the one way airfare... One more thing, Do we really have to get a one year nursing experience here in our home country before applying for a permanent residence visa ? Will taking the S.E.C. be enough to assess my nursing skills and land me a nursing job even if I only have a 6month hospital experience here in the Philippines?
