  1. The testicles develop before birth in the abdominal cavity My word is Priapism
  2. :balloons::balloons::balloons:Congrats!!!!
  3. I went from CNA to EKG tech to LPN and now going on to RN:monkeydance:
  4. I will be 38 in April and will graduate from the ADN program at my community college in May
  5. There are a few that I recommend. PM me and I will give you some names Have a great semester
  6. :oI don't know if everyone feels this way when they first start out in nursing or if it is just me. I recently started working in LTC (not new to LTC, have been a CNA for 19 years) as a LPN. I had three days orientation and then I was given an assignment of my own. The med passes took me forever, I had a resident fall and did not know what to do, and as far as charting it seems foreign to me. Does it get better? I am returning to school in August for my RN and not sure if I want too. So I am asking for advice from more experienced LPN's. Does it get better? Am I the only one who has ever felt this way? Is it normal to feel like I don't know anything? :scrying:I have wanted to be a nurse since I was a child. But two weeks after starting my first job as a nurse I am leaning towards going back to a CNA when things were easier.
  7. I am a new grad working as an LPN in LTC in one hour from Chicago and I make $23 with shift differential (afternoons). I will have to remember not to move south
  8. I am also a JJC nursing student (starting third semester in August;)) I agree the best notes to have are the ones that you take yourself. It will be tough but you will do great. Good luck!
  9. I'm not sure what RN's start out at in Illinois. But as a new LPN my starting wage is $22.50 in a nursing home.
  10. Good Luck on your nclex. I just took mine last week and did not feel prepared at all. My att arrived after three weeks and I scheduled to test that day I took it 4 days after receiving my att. I just went through nclex style questions from Kaplan and Saunders nclex books. If it is reassuring I am not a very good test taker and I passed it on the first try. My computer shut down at about 90 questions and it took me a little over an hour to take the test. Good luck to you again
  11. Love R Place Resaurant. Go there just about once a month. But no one can beat Syl's restaurant in Rockdale.
  12. I used the Kaplan and Sunders books. I really like the Saunders books. So I focused on that one
  13. Good luck to you on your exam. Good idea on taking them right away. I received my ATT, signed up to take the nclex 3 days later. My classmates thought I was crazy to take them so soon. But I was afraid that I may forget some of what I learned in class.
  14. :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: After waiting 2 awful, stressful, and second guessing days I found out that I PASSED the nclex-pn. I was so worried when the computer shut off at 90ish questions. And walking out of the test center not even having the faintest idea of a pass or fail grade. But I did it, and now I start my new job as a LPN on Friday :monkeydance:. Now I can do the happy dance and enjoy my summer with my children and no school til August. :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons:
