I took the NCLEX-PN and thought that was rough with only 85 questions and thinking I failed. :balloons::smiley_aa Kristi Lee - I'm currently taking classes for my RN and you're saying RN is easier than LPN boards?! Wow that's something else cause I thought it would be the exact opposite. I thought there was no way I could only study for 3-4 weeks for the NCLEX-RN and pass.

Thanks yall! I'm still so happy and excited. Now on my journey to RN. The road will be long, but I believe I'm ready for it. I still don't know the rhyme or reason behind the NCLEX and it calculating PASS or FAIL, but I was told that when the computer is 95% sure that you have reached at or above 50% minimum competency level (difficult questions) than it will cut off and that could be at 85 questions or 110 questions. That's why I keep telling people that the # is just the #, but I will say that if you stopped at the minimum # then you have either done extrememly terrible or pretty dag on good. I'm guessing if you get the minimum and you studied than you more than likely passed. I'm a believer that at least 95% of people pass at minimum # and only 5% fail at minimum #.

CONGRATS NEW NURSE!!!!!! :balloons::w00t::monkeydance: When did you take your exam? My results still aren't up yet and I'm trying to wait ever so patiently, but it's really not working. I barely got any sleep last night and can't wait to go home and get in my bed. One of my classmates passed with 85 quest, one other passed with 205 quest and one failed with 200 quest. So I don't know what to think at this point. I know that the # is only the # and I have to keep my FAITH in GOD that he helped me pull through it.

BoonersMom - Good Luck!!!!! Praying for you to PASS!!! I'm waiting on results myself and everyone keeps telling me to chill out and go and have a drink. Even though I have yet to do it, I'll pass on the advice and advise you to do the same. I'm from MD. I know it has to be quite cold up there?!?

I just don't know what to do with myself. I took the NCLEX-PN today and it stopped at 85. When I got home I looked up some answers to a few of the questions and I know I got at least 6 or 7 of them wrong and about 6 or 7 that I know I got right which 3 of those were calc questions. I'm trying to keep the faith that I passed, but it is really hard. I've heard of some that pass at 85 and some that fail at 85 and I know the # of quest is just the #. I would at least think that they would've given me a chance to answer a few more questions if I was getting some wrong and I would hate to believe that I was doing just that bad to stop soooooo early! Well, waiting patiently (at least trying to) for quick results in 48 hours.

Well it's finally over! I took the test today and stopped at 85 questions. It was funny because I took a break after my last calculation question which was 83 (yeah, it took me 2 hours) and then sat back down for 2 more questions and the screen went blue! I was like ok, so that's it, no more questions??? I'm really feeling a bit "iffy". I'm saying that because I had a few questions that I couldn't even remember what the answers were to something that I should've know, but of course I didn't review any of that content. Then I had a question which seemed like it was repeated and when I looked at it I knew or at least felt, that I had answered the one previous to it incorrectly!!!! Now it's waiting time. I should be able to get my results within 48 hours and I'm not sure if that means Saturday or Monday. It's in God's hands now so I'll have to be patient. I'm really praying that I did pass and that the computer would've given me some more questions if I wasn't doing all that well. I had 3 calc, about 5-6 SATA, alot of priority. I will tell you that as soon as I sat down my heart was palpating, I thought it was going to come outta my chest!!! Good Luck and many prayers to all who are testing soon!!! A friend of mine said "Hey you know the stuff, just go in there and have fun with it"! Can't say that's what I did, but I'm definitely going to try and relax this weekend!

Happy New Year!!! Well ladies and gents - my time has come. . . tomorrow is the big day and I'm not as nervous as I thought I'd be. I'm kind of ready to go in and get it over with. I've asked God to come into our hearts, minds, souls and bless us all that are sitting for this exam and give us the peace, serenity and knowledge that he has already provided for us so that we may achieve and accomplish a PASS score. Cash - AMEN!! AMEN!!! AMEN!!! It feels so good to have a place to come and be able to vent if we need to, pray, or ask for advice or even to verify a procedure, med, etc. My time is getting sooo close and I haven't been feeling anxious as of yet. I have been dreaming about all types of things pertaining to nursing. When I wake up I start laughing to myself and realize how powerful this NCLEX has a hold on so many of our lives. Sometimes I can't go to sleep if I'm trying to recall something and can't think of it, so I get up and get my review book to confirm it. I've been doing pretty much just the Saunders Review book 3rd edition and the CD. I made a study plan to go through as many content areas as I can on the CD and count how many I actually get wrong to see what my score would be in the study section instead of taking the Exam. I've been doing pretty well, which makes me feel even more ready to knock this NCLEX out the box. Good Luck and many blessings to those preparing to test soon!!

I was thinking about getting the 3 wks package, but I might have waited to late since my test date is Jan. 3rd. Do you think it's worth it or is it similar to Saunders or Kaplan? Sam7779 - Hang in there! I'm really inspired by you and how you've remained calm and positive. It gives me confidence to go in there and strive for the best, but if in the end I come up short there will always be another date for me to re-test. Well, my day is coming near and I'm actually not as nervous as I was before, which I am really happy about since I practically almost made myself sick the day I scheduled it. My classmate is taking her test on Monday and I'm really excited for her to sit and I told her that I know she'll do great, in fact; my whole class will do great and we will pass (hopefully our 1st time around). I have studied a little throughout the holidays and feel guilty when I'm not reading or doing some questions. I know I need a break and shouldn't wear myself out, but the guilt still lies there. Sam7779 - Try not to worry yourself too much. I know it's better said than done, but try to keep the faith and keep positive that you did it this time. 3rd times a charm, right?! (even though I know you would've rather passed it the very 1st time) Born - Do you really ever feel truly prepared for these kinds of test? I guess we do have a sense of knowing we studied and did the best we can, but try not to keep putting it off because you'll find yourself in Feb still not have taken the test. Good Luck to you and walk by faith. I go to the December board often and you do a very good job with keeping up with everyones dates and uplifting those that didn't pass. It's funny how I can say these things to others, but I sometimes feel a little nervous myself. I'm actually not as nervous as I was when I got my ATT. I'm surrounded by positive people and I know I will go in there with the knowledge and strength that God has given me and ask him to bless me with a passing score. Anna - Glad to hear from you and I wish you all the best in your decision!!! Yeah, it seems that there is so many prereqs that they require when you more than likely won't need some of them, but hey you have to get it done to get where you want to be. I have several to take myself and will start Jan. 7th. Are you going to Wake or Wilson Tech? Yes, I'm finally complete with my first step. Now I have to sit for NCLEX and that's what all of this was for. . . that LICENSE and of course giving care to those in need!!!! I'm excited and a little nervous at the same time. I've been studying pretty much every night except maybe on the weekends. I keep telling myself I WILL PASS and I know I will as long as I don't let the nerves get to me as soon as I sit down at that computer terminal :chair:. I was pretty much an A/B student, but that really doesn't mean too much when it's time to sit for state boards. Ladies send a prayer up for me please. I'll need every blessing that can be spared .

Well, I finally got my ATT and scheduled to take the NCLEX-PN on Jan. 3rd. I was so nervous making the appointment. I don't know what is wrong with me. I'll continue to keep GOD by my side and ask him for continued strength, knowledge and confidence. Good Luck again to all January test takers!!!!! It's already written that we've all passed!

Does anyone know if the BON has questions about your application will they contact you or how will you know that its the BON that's holding you up from getting your ATT? I'm not sure if the DON at the school I graduated from has sent over the rest of our paperwork yet, but she claimed she was going to do it soon. We finished the review class on Thursday and I was hoping she would've confirmed that we graduated with Pearson by now. I'm guessing God is teaching me patience.

Aspiringone --- That is sooooo what I needed this AM. I believe that I will read your post daily just to reassure and empower myself even more. I know we can do it with the strength of Christ by our side. The last day of review class was yesterday and I'm really glad I took it because it refreshed my memory on some disorders s/s that I may have forgotten or just said to myself "ok, yes, that's right". So I'm praying my ATT will come soon and I plan to take it either the last week in Dec. or the first week of Jan. before I start my prereqs for RN. Good Luck again to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

faithsmommy - Thanks for your response. The Lord and I have a pretty good relationship and I know he's my biggest supporter, so I know he'll give the strength that I need to make it through. I also know that I do need to review some more OB and Peds as I feel that's my weakest area. We didn't get a real intense lesson on it like we did other areas. The review class has been a really big help in going over alot of the Peds and OB and I've been getting the practice questions right, so I guess I know a little more than I think.

Hello January 08 Test Takers ----I'm soooo excited there's a support group! I graduated this weekend and am currently in a NCLEX-PN review course. It seems to be a pretty good course so far. The instructor says that the NCLEX should be taken within 2-3 weeks of completing any review course. I'm registered to start classes for RN in January so I'd like to have the NCLEX-PN out of the way before then, but if I feel I'm not ready then I'll wait a few more weeks. Good Luck to everyone and keep your head up to those whom have to retake the NCLEX. Let's get in control of this NCLEX and not let it take control of us!!!!

Congrats!!! I just graduated this weekend and now am in a NCLEX-PN review class. I'm starting to get a little anxious about testing. Please let me know what you did that you feel helped you pass!!!!
