  1. Hi, Do you know what education you need to teach LPN in the school you are writting about? I have heard that an AS plus LPN license will do but not sure. Thanks, Mel:typing
  2. Thank you so much for the play by play. I have always wondered what it would be like. I will apply for a part time LVN program here in Riverside where I live. Sounds like the books are the same as I look through them everytime I visit the book store. I am drawn to the nursing books. I just cant help myself! I was also nice to know your situation. I am a few years older than you with 2 children. I have been going over in my mind how I will do it with them in school, out of school. You know what I mean cause you have kids. They are always on your mind. Anyway, the day by day stuff does help and I will be looking forward to your next post. Thanks again, Mel

Any LVNs working with Derms doing laser removal or skin care? I am an esthetician and was wondering with my lvn if I would be able to work with a Derm or Plastic Surgen. Anyone? Salary? Any info would be appreciated. Mel

I am in a pre nursing class for LVN and we are required to take a math test and get 100% to pass the class. Is this typical for a LVN or LPN class. I understand that this is not required for the RN program. I have trouble when ever I am required to get 100%. The thought of it is enough to make me nervouse and mess up. I understand the importance of math skills and nursing. How much of it do you use on the job and are you able to double check with anyone? Thanks, Mel
  6. I am excited to start nursing 50 which is a pre nursing class in my area. I have no idea what to expect except a math test. Has anyone taken such a class with the math test? It states you have to pass with 100%. Im not nervous, just curious I guess. I have read the text and it reads like my diary. What I mean is I am pretty sure I have the personality to be a good nurse. This forum has givin me the courage to step out of my comfort zone and go after something I have only dreamed of doing. All your posts are like little stepping stones of encouragement and I want to say thank you. God Bless, Melissa
  7. 26 and doing so well! You go girl!! Makes me want to move to Texas. I agree with you that you are doing better than most who have a BA in the above posted. I live in California where the pay rate is 16-27 a hour but the cost of living is high. I have been looking into the LVN pay and teacher salaries and they are about the same. It is good to read how well some are doing. Melissa
  8. Hello everyone, I am interested in becoming an LPN. I have been reading the posts and would like to know what the duties are in the hospital and in home health. Are you an independent contractor in the home health field? Also does anyone know what Kaiser pays? I would like to work part time if possible. Oh, and does it make a difference if you have an Associates degree with your LPN certificate? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Melissa
  9. Now that sounds like fun. I cant wait to take Micro! I have to get through AP1 and 2 first. Melissa
