  1. I am also moving to FLW in June of 2009. can anyone help me with Lincoln University??? i have applied, called, emailed - EVERYTHING!! and i am not getting any help. im trying to do the LVN to RN program and i can't get an application. i applied to the college, but i can't get a hold of anyone in nursing admissions to apply to the nursing program. i want to start in august. any suggestions?? this is so fustrating.
  2. i did right out of LVN school and it was worth it because it was all fresh in my mind.
  3. if you go to the excelsior site, click on the CPNE Q&A somewhere and it has all of the sites. there a several, Atlanta, new york, wisconsin, Texas, are the ones i can think of off hand but i think there are at least 10 sites.
  4. does anyone have an example of how they broke it down to study the grids? and do the grids have to be exact or can you use your own version? i have some examples. and you are allowed to bring study aides in your room? also, what about the care plans, do you break those down to study those too? im so nervous and im not even close to this yet. im an over- preparer
  5. i know im replying to my own post, but when i submitted the post it brought up a lot of CPNE posts from the past. i got a lot of info from that, and i guess i will just keep moving forward with it . . . . . yeeeek!
  6. i am only one test away and i know i have asked several of you already if i should stay the course. but im in germany and they are making it extra hard to finish over here. its not like i can just get on a flight everytime i need to take a test. i used to be able to test in frankfurt but now they took that capability away, soooooo in the meantime, im looking at all the other stuff they want me to do to pass the CPNE. im really scared about paying $1700 for a test that i don't know if i will pass. i am confident in my skills, and i have been nursing for 6 years (about) and i actively practice, but i received the study CD for the CPNE and its so vague. then i was told i really need a workshop, well those are another $800 or the lynn's workshop are $250, either way thats more money spent and another trip to the states. very costly. in a nutshell, how many people pass the CPNE with just studying on their own?? do i really need all those workshops? im just scared of paying all that money and messing up one little thing and then not only am i out all that money, but my degree as well. help!!

  8. im getting so fustrated with this program. if anyone has any suggestions PLEASE let me know. i first enrolled in EC in 2003 but PCS'd to another state and had to get settled. i paid for all the enrollment stuff for EC and was on a roll - then got deployed. i couldn't test in Iraq, they were only letting Air Force test out. so i had to wait til i got back, i had to re-enroll because EC dropped me for not taking a test in so much time. well i PCS'd to Germany and i checked before i left and i was able to test in frankfurt at the prometric centers there, but now, as i go to take my last two tests, i am not allowed to test in germany anymore. that means i have to either fly to the states for a day or two to take tests, then pay for CPNE, then pay to fly back to take that . . . i can take my NCLEX in germany - THANK GOD!!! but im really getting bummed out by all this. there has to be a way around this, if anyone knows, please let me know. thanks! jenn
  9. yes thats me, i was a hooah nurse, and the 10th CSH was awesome!! my wardmaster currently SFC Figueroa was the WM in baghdad when they filmed the baghdad ER!! i went to mosul, and yeah, it was an unforgettable experience! anyway, the video - what is it called on ebay? anything special or just the CPNE video will do ? i will check, i heard its a great help.
  10. another school that takes EC that is RN - BSN is TExas A&M corpus christi. you take the classes as fast or slow as you want. you don't have to wait until the end of semester to keep moving on, when you are done, you move on at your own pace. a girl i used to work with is an instructor down there a few times a month and she said it's a great program. when i lived down there it was a 3 year wait to get into nursing school and this is a great alternative and no wait list!
  11. so, i know this is the same question i probably asked someone before, but - where do you get the video? i have heard about this video. do they send it in the package once you are accepted to take the CPNE?? and do you pay extra for the study materials on top of what you pay for the CPNE? or is it in the cost of that total? thank!!
  12. were you in the military at all? you work for the governement? i used my GI bill for some of it, and then used tuition assistance for some of it while i was active duty. but if you work for the VA they might have some tuition assistance available.
  13. Im new here, i heard about this site from a friend because she heard i was doing EC. anyway, i have been wondering, and scrubbing the website for all the info i can about the CPNE. i just don't understand how you get the info, or study for the CPNE. do they mail you books, or test examples? How did any of you find out about the grids and what they want? do you show up at the hospital and they just expect you to know? when do they tell you the rules? all i have is what i printed out from the EC website and its just a checklist. it doesn't say anything about grids or what you are allowed to use. PLEASE HELP!! i don't want to freak out on this test!! thanks!!
  14. I lived in Texas for 6 years, thats where i got my license, and the RN's on my floor were almost ALL Rn's through EC. and they suggested to go to the Wisconsin site. they said to avoid Dallas and didn't know if there was still one there, but they went through when it was Regents. but they all said Wisconsin site was the best.
  15. i was just on the site today getting some materials and they will drop test #2 if you have an lvn license already. look into it, it will save you some money!
