Bristol Community College - A.S. in Nursing
Is anyone familiar with/enrolled in this program? If so, how competitive is admissions? Also, I am thinking about completing fall semester at a diploma nursing program in CT and then transferring to BCC (if admitted). Do you think this is possible? Thank You!

Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing anyone??
Hello, Do you know the schedule for students who completed all the cognates/prerequisite coursework (sciences/psych)? I will likely enter the accelerated track this fall and was told that I would have classes 3 days/week (NU101 and NU102, I think). I am not sure which days these courses are offered or which courses I will be taking. Do you know? Thank you in advance for your help! Best, Nora

BA to Diploma to DNP?
Hello, I have a B.A. in Biology and after five years working as a rehab therapy aide at two rehab hospitals, decided to pursue nursing. My ultimate goal is to become an NP in rehab. I will enter a diploma program this fall and am wondering if with a BA and diploma in nursing I will be able to apply to DNP programs? I noticed that some programs require MSN as a prerequisite, while others (e.g., UMass) accept non-nursing BA/BS plus an associate degree in nursing. Thoughts/suggestions?

Is the compensation worth it?
VA is wide open (good pay and benefits, too!): http://jobsearch.usajobs.opm.gov/getjob.asp?JobID=56870776&AVSDM=2007%2D04%2D27+18%3A16%3A22&Logo=0&FedEmp=N&sort=rv&vw=d&brd=3876&ss=0&FedPub=Y&q=%22nurse+practitioner%22 http://jobsearch.usajobs.opm.gov/getjob.asp?JobID=57313425&AVSDM=2007%2D05%2D09+00%3A00%3A47&Logo=0&FedEmp=N&sort=rv&vw=d&brd=3876&ss=0&FedPub=Y&q=%22nurse+practitioner%22 http://jobsearch.usajobs.opm.gov/getjob.asp?JobID=57432075&AVSDM=2007%2D05%2D11+00%3A00%3A46&Logo=0&pg=2&FedEmp=N&sort=rv&vw=d&brd=3876&ss=0&FedPub=Y&q=%22nurse+practitioner%22 http://jobsearch.usajobs.opm.gov/getjob.asp?JobID=57448830&AVSDM=2007%2D05%2D11+00%3A00%3A46&Logo=0&FedEmp=N&sort=rv&vw=d&brd=3876&ss=0&FedPub=Y&q=%22nurse+practitioner%22

BSN to DNP with no nursing experience

BSN to DNP with no nursing experience
Great points. Thank you everyone for contributing. I am not exactly planning on going from BSN to DNP. It is just something I was wondering about. I think the way most programs are set up, students are already working as nurses (PT to FT) and taking courses toward their DNP. That way, they are accumulating clinical experience while remaining academically grounded. I think the online format of most DNP programs makes this a heck of a lot easier! Last I heard, the goal is to have DNP become the standard for advanced practice nursing. The MSN will be replaced by the terminal DNP degree. Is that true?

BSN to DNP with no nursing experience
What are the advantages/disadvantages of going directly from a BSN to DNP program without obtaining significant nursing experience in between?

RIC nursing program
Hello, I applied for admission in fall 2007, but am still waiting to complete a plan of study. So, I think I will be eligible for spring 2008 admissions. How about you? Did you already complete a plan of study? Do you already have a Bachelor's degree? Does anyone have information about admissions at RIC? The website is not too specific. How competitive is admission? Any help would be great. Thanks a million.
