Whites or Colored scrubs?
I am a true believer in all colors including white! I was so thankful that when I started in nursing school that we did not have to wear all white, we wore an army green pant and lab coat with a white top which was FANTASTIC! I occasionally wear a white top but have retired the bottoms. Let me just say that it was an unfortunate event! Anyway to everyone rock on in what ever color scrub you do the best job in!

Just took the nclex today....
I also took my NCLEX this week, Monday actually. I know what you mean I looked to see what question I was on and then after I answered question 85 and the it shut off, I was so pissed! :angryfire I didn't know what to think, I wasn't sure whether to throw up or to jump for joy! That's when you want to die because you are not sure if you can handle the anticipation until you find out the results of your exam! :uhoh21: Anyways just relax if you have the option for quick results than you have less than 48hrs until you know. Best wishes to you both!

Any Baker flint Students?
Yes, OCC does require the NET test. The ladder program is where you complete the LPN program and then work for about 6 months+ and then you begin the RN part of the program which runs from January until December.

[LPN to RN] Financial Questions ?
I am a new member to allnurses.com and I am not sure if this is the most appropriate forum to post such a question. However, I am a recent grad of an LPN program and plan on moving forward into the RN program next school year. So I figured I would post this question here to see if others in my position [LPN to RN] have similar questions or maybe some advice on the financial side of things...... I have spoken to some banks and some lenders, however, I am not completely satisfied that I am getting all of my options, or even my best options at all when it comes to student loans. Here are my financials: - $25,000 loan, Bank of America (Education Maximizer), private/unsecured - $4,000 others loans, Stafford Loans, subsidized/unsubsidized Here is what I need: - To finance ... yet ... another 1 1/2 years of un/under-employment while I tend fully time to my studies in the ADN program, I figure I need to borrow approximately $30,000 to supplement our household income. My goal: - To make the best, most informed decision concerning new loans and my existing loans. I have read about loan deferment, private versus federal, consolidating versus not consolidating, etc. I don't really know where to start. And I want to make the best possible financial decisions considering I will be paying these loans off into the unforseen future. Anybody else in this same boat? Confused? Any advice? Or maybe where I could look to get some? I feel like I should consult a personal financial advisor or something. These lenders are happy to give you sales pitches about their loans, but they don't even ask about your unique financial situation. Thanks, sugarbear25

Any Baker flint Students?
Carebear and adn44 my advice to you is to do what you think is best. For me the decision was easy. The only required classes that I needed when I transfered to OCC were Chemistry and a phys ed. OCC is a great school and well worth it! I wish you both the best of luck with whatever you decide but if you plan on doing the LPN @ Baker and want to continue for the RN @ another college make sure that everything transfers accordingly or it will cause you more migraines in the future! GOOD LUCK!

Any Baker flint Students?
I absolutely REFUSED to ever go to Baker whether in Flint or otherwise when I decided to go to school for nursing. Why spend the time busting your butt and not know if it is going to pay off or if you'll have to go elsewhere and repeat certain courses! I started out at Mott and after 2 years and still no admission into their program I transferred to OCC. It only took one year and they offer a ladder program. I just finished in April :monkeydance: and am very pleased with the education that I received. I made some great friends and the faculty wants you to succeed! It was well worth the 3 hours round trip that I spent in the car Monday thru Friday for a year and a half, to say that on Friday night I will be the 1st in my family to graduate from college!:balloons:

Passing the NCLEX
I am scheduled to take my exam on Monday! I have a friend who took her exam today and thinks that she has failed because every question that she had we never learned about. This is extremely scary to me because this is the PN exam. Here is my question: How many people have failed on the first try and is the PN exam harder than the RN exam? Any advice is greatly appreciated!:nuke:
