Any Baker flint Students?
Holy Cow! Your GPA was way high. Do you know why you didn't get in. Were there any explanations? Now I'm freaking out. I'm with you, I have worked my butt off and would hate not to get in now, I would be very disappointed. If you don't mind me asking, what are you planning on now? I heard that wayne state doesn't have a wait but it is quite a drive away, you may want to look into there program. Good Luck Robin

Hi!!
Thank you for the reply! I don't think that we will be moving until I get out of school. My house need to be fixed up before we move and I would like to stay at the school I am at because I am getting really good grades and my hubby is putting through school by working his butt off. He travels around the country and has been to China and Thialand and currently he is in Alabama. I was so jealous he left yesterday and called me last night and said guess what the temp is here I told him that I didn't want to know!!! Have a good day Robin

Hi!!
I live in Michigan and I am 2 quarters till I start the nursing program. Me and my hubby have been talking about moving out of this freezing state not to mention all of the car plants will be shutting down and many of those workers will be relocating out of state, there is no work here. As for nursing as with anywhere there are plenty of jobs. However, I feel that with all of these plants shutting down there will be less nursing jobs in the future (lack of sick people). We have been talking about alabama. So my reason for posting :nuke: If you go to school in Michigan and get licensed here, does it transfer or do you have to take the nursing exam for Alabama too? Any help would be much appreciated.

Relocation Question
Hi all!! I was wondering if once you have your Michigan Nursing Liscense can you relocate to another state and still be able to practice or do you have to retake tests or what ever. I (we) are thinking of relocating to Alabama once I get out of school. Thanks

Any Baker flint Students?
I am attending my second quarter at Baker flint. I love this school (although some of the students are bit of a joke) and some of the teachers (My math teacher is kinda well dumb i guess her famous quote: "you either get it, or you dont, what is that) other than that I am a 3.9 student and am very proud of my self. I went to school for Massage and then went back to school for RN. You have to realize that I am 32 with 2 kids and a hubby who travels everywhere all the time. So I want him home more and decided to get a more stable job. Health care is the only option for me!! ANy way just wanted to see if there are more then just me who are scared to death about not getting into the program. I WILL SUCCEED!!!! :nuke: Any way just wanted to say hi, must study origin, insertion, function and location for A&P I. WOOHOO

Schools with no wait?
Hi, I am a pre nursing student at Flint, Baker. The do work by a point system and yes is goes by grades. They use your honor points. You get extra points for NOT retaking classes (for better grades) and you have to take a prenursing exam that will also go towards your points for admission. Also, they accept 60 students a year. 30 for fall and 30 for winter. I have heard that the nursing portion is very difficult here and that you have no life while in the program. But I say that 2 years isn't that much if you consider the fulfillment of the career. Also I have heard that Mott is now a 5 year waiting list. Good Luck

From massage to nursing?
Hi all!! I have been a MT for about 3 years also (in Michigan), I have worked for chiropractors and a little on the side (but mostly for the chiro's) I have found that the being a MT has helped me as I know more in my classes that most do not, Muscles and bones and movement. I have been asked alot of questions from people about MT, they want to know where I went to school, if I liked it etc.... I loved doing massage but my left wrist and for arm started getting sore (no much pain) from the deep massages that i was doing. I am so excited to see what I can accomplish being a RN and MT. I hope that maybe I can relieve tension and anxiety. I am looking into the OB field as I know (being a mother of 2) that massage can greatly help their pain. Does anyone agree with this choice? Thanks
