Moving to Tennessee
Hi all, I will be graduating in the fall of 07 and my wife and I are looking at moving from Charleston SC to somewhere in the east of TN, Ive looked at UT in Knoxville, a level 1, in ER or ICU and currently Johnson City Medical Center again a level 1, in ER or ICU. I have an EMS/Fire Hx and hope to be a Flight nurse in 3-5 yrs? I know little of either place apart from the new grad pay is poor at $17/phr. any helpfull info would be great:uhoh3:

Horrid clinical uniforms
What is going on out there? my school still wears all white, I feel we men look like dentists, the blue stuff sounds like hell, im sure i would switch schools? so of the scholls sound like the are pritty profesional, I wish my school wouls accept white scrubs, anyhow my last semester and we wear smart casual clothes with lab coat, as we are in psyc. good luck to all men out there, remember we men will graduate as Registerd Nurses, and we should be called nurses, not male nurses! my hang-up, women are not called female nurses are they, lets move with the times and get of the gender train

HI, what's the latest you've stayed up studying for a test or exam?
Hi all, I have one semester to go:rotfl: I study the day before any test/exam but never the night before, I find my brain will not rest, get up early and a quick read before the said torture test, seems to work for me, if I stay up to late i feel sick in the am and cant concentrate anyway, and i never seem to sleep well before clinicals, even though i love the clinical part of my program.

Name hospital and salary--everywhere
Great topic, I will be graduating in dec 07, at my current hospital in Charleston SC (Hot as hell) new grads are on $21 p/hr, however I will once graduated move to Knoxville TN, (Cooler) where wages suck at $17.75 p/hr, why is there such a range, on this forum ive seen upto $35. Crazy, I know cost of living is a key factor, but so is the nursing shortage. what can we do about it

I have trouble admitting that I will be a nurse
Hi all, I will be graduating in Dec 07, What I find crazy about the whole thing is that, we men are called The male nurse by many people, women are not called the female nurse, their just nurses, we are always the male nurse, like we did a different course? If your a female Dr, your a Dr, if your male they done say see the male Dr, Crazy world we live in
