  2. Hello anyone please,... I am a RN in Massachusetts, and i am currently thinking to relocate to either Maryland or Atlanta GA. Can someone please answer my questions,... What is the base pay for and RN 0-1yr experience?? What are the chance of getting a hospital job with an Associate in Nursing degree?? I understand housing is cheaper, but how about other areas of expenses like grocery, gas, clothing, car, insurance etc, to sum up cost of living for what you get paid in GA?? I am a single mother to a six yr old boy, i also want to know about the school system for kids? Is it easy to get into a RN-BSN program, and list of some schools please?? Are there any nurses there who can also help, who have relocate to GA from either MA, MD of VA who advice me. I really what to be sure before I move because I really don't want to be in a situation where I will have to move again. I really want to work in a hospital, but in Massachusetts, most of the hospital are presently hiring only BSN nurses. Most of ADNs end up in nursing homes. MA is also very expensive and I am looking for much less expensive states with nicer weather and MD and GA are top of my list. Please I need advice. THANKS

  4. I need advice.. This is my second week of orientation, and 2nd day on the unit of a LTC facility. I feel terrible, scared and dumb. Did any of you feel this way when you start working as a nurse..like you know nothing. I am suppose to be on orientation, but I feel that my preceptor and CNAs are expecting me to know everything already. HELLO.. I AM A NEW NURSE!!! I am also overwhelm because i will be doing only 2 weeks orientation on the unit with 22 patients. I have to give meds, do treatments and communication with MDs, NPs and other healthcare team, do different documentations,...How will I learn all that in 2 weeks and they are making me feel miserable already. I want to focus on learning now, but i am occupied with the fact that in 8 days, I will be left on my own with 22 patients. What should I do? Is this ok or maybe i am just dumb? I feel like nursing is not for me. Do you feel that way when you start. PLEASE HELPPPPP!!!

  8. congratulation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..shara_su and ergito2. i am happy for both of you. it is such a wonderful feeling. registered nurses..way to go:nurse::smiley_aa:smiley_aa. have a wonderful christmas.
  9. I check my result through quick results from pearsonvue site. My name will be on MA BON tomorrow. I paid $7.95 to check the result
  10. PD&A means Prioritization, Delegation and Assignment by Linda Lacharity. I bought mine at Barne & Nobles for I think $25 or so.
  11. I will say do the best you can. I use sanders cd doing question in study mode, in content area,...and I will answer all the question for a particular content. It was easier for me because with study mode, u get the rationales immediately, and i will read every rationale whether i got the question right or wrong. NCSBN is good too, i did some questions from it and they were similar to nclex questions. Yes satan has different ways to distract you,...so please pray, pray and pray. Last week i was at the church 5 days fasting and praying and during those days didn't really study much. But i thank God i was so calm. You will surely make it in Jesus name
  12. Don't worry too much, start thanking God, because he has done it already.
  13. 3 days. Quick result 48hr and the next day, your name will be on MA BON. I am from MA myself just find out i passed this morning...I took my exam on the 4th Dec.
  14. yes i passsssssssed with 75 questions:balloons::balloons::nurse:i am a registered nurse. yeaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!. i am so happy, oh what a good feeling. i took my exam on tuesday the 4th of december and just found out this morning that i passed. i have 10 sata, about 10-12meds, infection control, some prioritization, diseases especially endocrine, diabeties, hypo and hyper thyriodism, cushings and so forth. few peds, no maternity, few pysche. i prayed a lot for this exam and i mean lots and lots of prayers and fasting and my questions were so easy, like knowledge questions, i thought i have failed. for those taking the exam more than once, don't give up. this is my 3rd time, the 1st 2 exams, i did 265 questions, use kaplan and it did not help me. now i use saunders 3rd ed cd, some questions from ncsbn and prioritization, delegation and assignment by linda lacharity. pd&a is a very good book, some of my questions were very similar to the questions in the pd&a book. yepeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. to god be the glory..i passed with 75 questions. :balloons::balloons: :nurse: i am finally a registered nurse.......this is my 3rd exam, the first 2 i got 265 questions. i have 10 sata, about 10-12 meds, 1 maths, some priority questions, infection control, diseases, sign and symtoms and risk factors, teachings few physc, peds and not maternity... i can't believe it when i saw pass on computer. i cried even more than when i failed. it is such a good feeling. to all dec. test takers..whether 1st timers or you have taken it more than once, don't give up. you are all going to pass. i did kaplan 1st and 2nd time, this time, it saunders 3rd ed with cd, (i did not do suzzanze's plan) did almost all the questions on the cd except for about 400, i also use prioritization, delegation and assignments by linda lacharity i did the ncsbn, i did not actually do the review but answer some questions through a good friend. if i am to recommend.. i will say saunders, prioritization, delegation and assignment, a five star to that book, and ncsbn...any one is good. kaplan did not help me both times. i will pray for all those who are taking the exam today and who will be taking it this month or next month, that god will favour you. he will favour you, as you enter the building to take your exam, you will come out with a pass. i pray that the lord open the heavens and let his spirit and his angels be with you all during your studies and exam. i pray that he gives you supernatural knowlegde, wisdom and understanding. i pray that the spirit of anxiety and fear die in your life in jesus name. you shall not fail. failure is not your portion and will not be your portion. you will pass in jesus name. you can personalize this prayer, and on the day for the exam, do what i did. i speak to the computer. i said you computer, you must favour me in jesus name. you must give me easy questions, questions that i will be able to answer.. and believe me that's exactly what i got. they were so easy i thought i have fail. they were like knowledge questions. even the sata were easy. you will all make it in jesus name. good luck to you all.
  16. CONGRATULATIONS Je Da!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:smiley_aa:smiley_aa. I have been following your thread and praying for you, I am so happy for you. I will be taking my exams again in December and I pray that at the end of it all, I will celebrate. Once again, CONGRATULATIONS.... RN:nurse:
  17. I plan to take my exam in december too. Just like lvlytxn, I really don't want to reveal my date yet, but looking towards 1st or 2nd week in december. My original date was november 19th, but cancel that date. I did kaplan before, but it did not work for me. Now I am doing question on saunders cd, using study mode. I am using kaplan qbank and video which i have gone over and over again, but my kaplan membership will expire on the 15th of november long before i test. I love saunders very much and i use it more, and kaplan their questions, as it is more similar to the real exam. The november group has being doing good so far and i love their motivating spirit. I read their thread everyday to get motivated. I pray that December group will do good too and pass the exam.
