  1. I took AANP cerification. Fitzgerald's is the only review I used. It was very helpful. I highly recommend it! I learned stuff not even taught in my program
  2. No. I had all those and they were helpful. In my opinion, the extensive amount of research, nsg. history was something I could have done without.
  3. I am an FNP in Texas making $50/hr with benefits. I work in a minor care of an ER. I just switched to this job from a pvt. practice clinic where I earned $70K + bonus and benefits.
  4. Wow! Lots of thoughts about advanced practice. I am glad to be in advanced practice nursing, but if there had been a choice of a PA school closeby, I would have done that instead. I liked the fact that the PA programs offer more clinical training and less topics in research and Nursing history! I work alongside MDs DOs PAs and NPs in an ER setting. I do think my ER nurse background has as much to do with my success in practice than any specific thing I learned in NP school.
  5. 4 hour increments help the task of triaging not drive you completely nuts. It can also be entertaining. Try not to take it personally.

I completed my MSN at Tech in a collaborative program. I was very pleased with the program comparatively.
