Took NCLEX and some of the questions where too easy..:(
took the exams last 28th of this month.. i really felt worried about it, cuz the questions I got were too far easy.. after 50 minutes, it was over at 75 questions, I was the first one in the room to finish it.. I feel like I did not make it now.. no SATA, no calculations, more of prioritization, patient teaching, meds less than 10.. I felt like it was a give away, as if it just wants me to reach 75 and get the hell out of that room.. heard it'll still take about 4 weeks for the results to show up through snail mail.. well, I just have to accept what the results be..

Some Tips and Advice for a 2nd courser
I am also one and it took me 2 years to finish the degree.. I cannot say it was easy for me (the idea of going back to school - fees, exams, etc.) but everything was worth it! :0

What is a typical nursing salary in the Philippines?
there are a few ambulance services companies back in manila (luckily I got a good one).. and, being a paramedic is one of the best jobs I had and I have landed a job here in Saudi because of that work experience..

Still wanna be a nurse at 40++
I also had classmates as old as my mum (mid 50's) and you'll be surprised how good they were at nursing school.. well as long as you have a strong determination to pursue a nursing career.. I am 100% that you can make it! :)

What is a typical nursing salary in the Philippines?
After I graduated and passed the local board exams, I applied in a tertiary hospital, passed the exams and interviews then was offered P6,000.00 / month to work as an O.R. nurse . . I had expected it but it was kinda hard to accept . . I then applied in a private ambulance services company and was earning P18,000.00 / month (w/ overtime) . . thrice of being what is being offered in the hospital . . obviously, nurses aren't getting paid enough in our country . . so nobody can blame us if we search for the "greener pastures" that is most likely we have the chances to be into . . I'm in Saudi Arabia now working as a paramedic and waiting for my ATT for me to try my luck for the NCLEX . . if I stayed in the Philippines, I wouldn't be able to save money for such kind of nurse's salary . .

Second Coursers
after a 7-year gap, I went back to school to take up nursing.. it was really a fun experience wherein you are mixed w/ the younger generation & you'll be surprised on how much they respect you.. the difference is, second coursers are more focused and determined for we had set our minds on a plan.. the funny thing I experienced was I had to "reactivate" my brain cells for it sort of got "dormant".. LOL! goodluck to all peeps who'll have nursing as their second course..
