  1. Funny that I read this...same thing happened to me at my dialysis observation day last week. I have never got nausea before anything before and I actually wasn't looking at any blood, just talking to a pt. I am convinced it was the smell...but i too got hot and nausea and had to sit down, it was short lived but awful..
  2. I was at the nw campus... wow same thing happened at western campus. Yeah great way to start the program. Oh well, at least now I know where to go...I had a practice run!
  3. Today was supposed to be my first lecture class but the instructor never showed. I guess she thought the lec times were M/R. How frustrated! It also took me 20 minutes to find out what room I was supposed to be in since they changed it so many times! Was anybody else in the same boat today...waited 40 minutes in that room..waste of time
  4. Hi, I just applied yesterday. My GPA is 4.0 overall, 91 on the NET, and I took all my classes at WCCCD and have all my coreqs completed. I too, think I have a good chance of getting in but do not want to be overly confident like the previous post stated. Good luck to everyone!!
  5. I was at Henry Ford Hospital.
  6. This is so true! Yesterday, I shadowed my friend at work who is an Er tech( she just took EMT classes.) She was training a nurse extern who is about to enter her last semester in nursing school. The extern is getting about 3 more dollars in hour. Anyways, she was learning everything from my friend. My friend taught us both how to take blood( she let us both practice on her!) Then I let the extern take my blood and I took hers. We did really well! I loved the experience of the ER! When I am done with Med Surg 1 I am going to apply there. My basic point is that she is learning more from working in the ER than in her clinicals. Heck, I learned so much from just 1 day! I can't wait until I can work there!
  7. Thanks for the replies! I think I am going to take it online, this will be the only class I am taking for the summer semester, so I think I can manage the work load. I am currently taking A&P, so I am used to the hard work and studying...I was hoping for a break but oh well, might as well not get lazy now
  8. The instructors are either Zabitz or Singleton if that helps. Do you know anything about them? Anybody else had these instructors?
  9. Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with nutrition online at wcccd. I was thinking about taking it for the summer but want to get some input before I decide. I am currently taking Lifespan Development online and I love it. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks:nuke:
  10. I still have not received mine yet, a few other people I took the net with got theirs monday too! I am going crazy:banghead: Congrats to you though.... good job
  11. I took my NET on Feb 11th and I still have not received my scores. I am going crazy waiting. They said it would take about three weeks...its been four! Well, I hope we receive them soon. Maybe I should call too.
  12. Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer and I thought I would write my first post to introduce myself after reading the forum for a few months now. I have found it extremely helpful. I am currently in my fourth semester at WCCCD and hoping to get in the nursing program next year. I am 29 years old, married for ten years, and have a son (10 yrs) and a daughter (6 yrs).I have always wanted to go back to school and pursue my dream of becoming a nurse and I finally was able to get my butt in gear. I really enjoy school and I am so happy I had the opportunity to go back. I am proud to add that I hold a 4.0 GPA I am looking forward to talking to everyone:D
