  2. Well definitely focus on your grades of course, but also study hard for the TEAS test. Buy the study guide, read the different sections, do the practice tests, sign up for it as early as possible and keep taking it, as many times as you can, cause there's always a chance you can do better (and they take your highest score)! I don't have the greatest grades, all B's and A's but my GPA is only a 3.6. I still think i have a pretty decent chance based on last springs point cutoff. My Teas score definitely is helping me out. Oh and also try and get as many of the extra points as possible. Try and meet the bilingual requirements and the health care experience requirements cause those 8 or so points can definitely push you up. Just stay focused. If you want it bad enough you can definitely get it. I'm just hoping the last 2 years of hard work pay off next winter with an acceptance letter!
  3. community college. I definitely did not have the money nor the grades to go straight to sac. Although if I could have, I would have.
  4. I took the TEAS a few weeks ago. I had ordered the Study Guide a couple months back then completely forgot about the test! I didn't remember until the day before I was registered to take it! I studied all that night and the next morning. I was completely freaked out because on the Math and Science practice tests I did horrible! But I got my results back last week and I got a 92.4 and was in the 99th percentile for the program! I am taking the test again next week in hopes of bettering my score, since I will be more prepared than just studying the night before! Keep your head, stay confident and study the info in the study guide! Oh and remember your metric conversions, thats what got me! lol
  5. Ill be applying to 2 schools, Fresno State in August and Sac State in September, both for a Spring '08 start! I'm super excited and anxious! I'll be finished with my prereqs this fall, so i really hope I get in Spring '08 so I'm not wasting time with no classes to take! I think I have a pretty decent chance of getting into Sac State based on my GPA and TEAS score. Fresno State I don't feel so confident about since they accept only based on your GPA for your prereqs! But I'm still going to apply, keeping my fingers crossed that maybe ill get in! If i get into Sac State I will have to move 3 hours away since I live in Fresno. But Good luck to everyone! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for us all!
  6. Guess I should jump on the bandwagon here! My micro class starts on Monday. 8 week class, 5 days a week! And on top of it, 3 days a week it starts at 7:30 am and I live 20-30 min from the school! No good! But it was the only class I could get into, the rest were full! Good luck to everyone!
  7. I will be applying to Sac State's nursing program this summer for Spring '08. I found http://www.hhs.csus.edu/NRS/Advising/GenericAdvising/fall2006/ really helpful. They show the point scales they use for GPA and TEAS test scores and also statistics for previous semesters so you can see what you are up against. I would say it is more hard work and dedication than luck. Based on my GPA and current TEAS score I will have 71 points. I am also retaking the TEAS next week to hopefully raise my 92%. So Im hoping these past 2 years of hard work, tons of studying, and a highly reduced social life pay off in September!! If you have anymore questions, let me know. Trust me I have done hours of research haha.
