Older nurses jealous of new young nurses?
what a wealth of good information and knowledge! i'm a newly qualified nurse at the age of 58 so i have a foot in both camps. i personally take advice and help from wherever i can get it. i can learn from everyone, including auxiliaries - a good auxiliary is worth his/her weight in gold. the truth is that there are nasty, mean-spirited people in every walk of life and age group. we all need to respect each other and work together as a team for the benefit of each other. that's the main way that all of us, including the patient, will gain hugely. it makes for a much nicer working environment and patients unerringly pick up on the fact if there is discord on a ward. mutual respect and teamwork - it works! hang on in there! linzi

Teaching Pack
Lol - a very good point! I suppose that just illustrates the fact that you shouldn't use jargon. Strictly speaking, it's called a learning resource pack, aimed at teaching either patients or students a particular aspect of care or a clinical skill. In my case, the one I have chosen is pressure area risk assessment aimed at 1st year students.

help! Im losing motivation
I'm in exactly the situation you are in at the moment. I feel burned out and find it really difficult to motivate myself. However, what I do is to look back to where I started and where I am now (in my final 6 months!!) and think how pointless it would be to give it all up now at this stage. When I qualify, I'll be able to support myself and have a good life. I'd like to travel too and my degree will give me an open passport almost. Don't give up now - you're almost there!!:yelclap::yelclap: Good luck, Linzi

Teaching Pack
Hi, I'm a 3rd year student nurse in Scotland and for my final Diploma essay, have to compile a 1,000 word teaching pack aimed at students and a 2,000 word rationale to accompany it. I've started to download journal articles for my reference list but other than that, am having a really hard time knowing where to start. Can anyone point me in the right direction - helpppppppppppp!! Lol Any help would really be appreciated - thanks. Linzi:uhoh3:
