  1. I would hope not. Anyone who has seen even one actual case of tetorifice would know this is something everyone should be immunized against. It is a gruesome disease.
  2. Yes - the best thing you can do is take any job in nursing that you can find and get your initial experience. Apply to an area of nursing in your area that the need is the greatest. I did an RN-BSN completion program. You can chip away at your BSN while working at your first nursing position. Good luck!
  3. You should have no trouble finding a job at your age - in St. Louis, MO the biggest needs are in ortho, telemetrya nd med-surg. There are a multitude of full time and part time jobs available. You have so many credits alreadyw ith your past education and I would think most of that will tranfer into a BSN program. You go for it!!
  4. I've only seen one - a little 10 year old boy- and that was back in 1974.

I was a ParishNurse for 5 years. It was a supplemental income to my husband's income. I made $500 a month -that is what the church could pay. That was whether I worked 5 hours a week or 50 hours a week. The benefit I received was health care for my family - so that was good. But it did not provide a liveable salary so after my divorce, I actually became their church secretary which was a much better salary. In my experience, each church decides what they can afford - usually it is volunteer or part-time. This was a few years ago, but the current parish nurse at our church is making $650 a month, so it really has not improved salary-wise. If you do this job, you will most likely be supplementing it with another part-time nursing job. However, if you do this type of job through a community agency, your chance or having a more competitive RN salary increases greatly. But then, so does the stress level and job expectations.
