  1. Bless your heart. Run do not walk to the next job interview. Doctors' office, nursing home, another hospital, home health or the hospital further down the road perhaps more monies there. Keep us posted please. I too am sorry for your loss.
  2. Bless you. I could not agree with you more. Be person enough woman/man enough to come to me or anyone else face to face. Enough already with the back stab bit.
  3. I am so glad to be here. My name is Sherry. I am an RN ADN in Sebring Fla. I have been gone from this forum for some time . Sebring is a great place to nurse with the small town feel and only 2 hours from Tampa, Orlando and 3 hours from Miami. I am a M/S nurse and love it . Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.
  4. You Go Barefoot Lady Do what you want to do. We spend more time @ work than @ home. Enjoy what you do and who you are or move on to something ((or someone) else.
  5. Florry Different strokes for different folks girl. There is nothing strange about a persons own interests. Nursing history is an awesome read. SherRN Ocankhe The "real nurse" comment was from a little kid not one of us. We are all stereotyped in one way or another. We all have watched ER and seen scrubs and every kind of Nurse weakness there is. We see adds and there are whites and caps. There is no happy medium. We just all " Start where we are and do what we can" in what ever we wear.
  6. Amen Cheerful ! Professional is the word.
  7. Cheerfull I too enjoy the cap and whites. I never go 8 hours without positive feedback from pts., families, and auxillary. I wear scrubs for weekend work and holidays. Other than that it is whites and cap. I am the only one in my hospital that does . There fore it is true I must keep my act straight right or wrong. I also get a little lip from our "Frequent Fliers" when they arrive on a weekend or holiday and I have on scrubs. I believe all should have the choice of what they wear and enjoy it. I do!
  8. Same here in Fla. Rn spikes and hangs can co-sign and verify with LPN or RN. I have no big picture of RN and Doc.

SheRN We have what they call AS(adaquate sp? Staffing) Mostly in the summer as we are a seasonal town. They call about 0530 for a 0700 shift and say you can stay home. Most of the time you may use a holiday or vacation day if you wish. Sadly our census is down now in our prime season. 3 main reasons for that. Threat of war, The market and The increase in Canadian health insurance rate for coverage for travel. with all those factors our season is down 20 % for the town and 10 % for the hospital. We have not renewed 3 seasonal contract and let go 3 CNAs . Of course the minute we did we got busy.
  10. In our hospital we do not have to co-sign an LPN. They have an assignment just like we do. We have to do their IVP and flush their central and pic lines. We have to do the blood draws from lines hand chemo and any and all blood products. The strange thing is I just found out that the oher two hospitals in this county have the RNs cosigning the LPNs just as you describe.
