Roughly how long is the current wait for someone coming from the UK. I am a British Citizen but was born in Jamaica so will I be processed as British or Jamaican?, if the latter, how long roughly is the wait for Jamaican's? Thanks

My circumstances are alittle different, however I second your frustration. I can't offer any positive words right now because I am bewildered by this whole process, with the issue of retrogression to look forward to at the end. I wish you luck, hope I haven't depressed you further.

YES, 6 weeks paediatrics. Theory hours? I can hardly remember, however I think that around two weeks theoretical prep for each area and 1 weeks reflection. No assignments or exams completed though, apart from ward based ones which I don't think would count. If my hours are insufficient can I make up the hours there?. I am feeling so desperate at the moment, I made a questionable decision to leave my 6 year old in ATL with my mom while I tie things up here. I was naive enough to think that this would be a 8-12 month process. Nearly 5 months have passed and I haven't evevn yet passed the first hurdle, don't even know if I will get past it. I miss him o the point that I cn barely function.

Wow, you respond so fast. Yes, I spent 7 weeks in total on the maternity inpatient unit, and 2 weeks with the community midwives. Are there any other areas that you feel will be problematic? I should start preparing for the NCLEX over the next couple of weeks, will have a look at your thread again for recommended study material. Thank you.

.The transcript forwarded by my school lacked sufficient information so they wrote again at the end of February requesting clarification of maternity and paediatric hours. My school only responded on the 26th March so I really hope to hear something soon. oNCE cgfns have submitted my doccuments to GA BON (*if everything is OK), how long will they take to issue my ATT? How long do you recommend studying for the NCLEX ?

I contacted CGFNS via phone and asked for the service to be changed (not cancelled), to the CES programme. They agreed and asked me to submit my request in writing, which I have done.

Thanks RGN1. I have read many of your posts and you do seem to know a lot about the process. I am trying to get to Atlanta GA, all my family are there so that's my motivatation. I applied to the CGFNS for the Certification programme in December 06' , I recently wrote to them asking to change it to the CES, as that is what GA BON requires. I am so anxious to find out whether or not I meet the requirements. Fortunately I covered all the core areas in my trining so just keeing my fingers crossed.:monkeydance:

Hi all, I wonder if anyone has any information about hours requested by the various Nursing boards. Might be a good idea to have a thread with such information. Particularly interested in response about the experience from those who have already passed through this atage of the process. Thanks

I totally agree, sure I am a caring person, but overall, this is a job and I am tired of the expectation being that I will work until my fingers bleed, under the worst conditions and on a wage that I can barely afford to live on (London cost of living), but if I complain or protest, I am made to feel guilty, as if being a nurse automatically entitles you to not expect to work under reasonable conditions and be reasonably compensated.
