  1. Temprtantrum...the healer.. and anyone else... yes everyone has different experiences... But this is from someone that has been in the program.. Especially the Jefferson campus... 2bnursestef ( I think they are at the Shelby campus).... Do your research...I was advise by a Doctor to do research and talk with students that are currently in other nursing programs before I actually switch... It's just a heads up... It's one thing when one person fails.. But when over half the class... Like I said 10 out of 50 left from Fall 2007... That is a majority..that is too many students to say " Hey ya'll aren't studying"... That's a faculty issue.. But whatever school you decide to go to... Do your research... Maybe they have learn from previous classes and have changed but who knows...
  2. Unfortunately... A whole class of nursing students didn't do well... Jeff State needs to clean up... And it wasn't started by students.. It was a faculty that told us that the school is under investigation. DO you actually think Tiffany would tell you the program is under investigation? When I talked to her.. she was even surprised at the amount of students that failed the Fall 2007 term....
  3. Hey 2bnurse..... You know what I've never heard that the credits wouldn't transfer.... I have a friend who has spoke to someone at Lawson.. and they didn't inform her of that.. And another friend who has talked to someone at Wallace.. They never said that the classes wouldn't transfer, but they suggested thtat she start over because they haven't started taking transfer students yet..... As far as the investigation....Let's see I know my class ( started Fall2007) out of 50.. maybe 10 are left... Nurses failing the board....I regret starting out at Jeff State....Eventhough I am suppose to start back this summer. Returning students were suppose to be notified of the required paperwork/and portions of the physical that would need to be done.. I have called and no one will return my phone call... And I have even called the Director of the Program.. And quite frankly I am sick and Tired of it........lol.. Hope that helps...If Jeff State gets their ability to teach stripped from them... i would blame the state... They program needs a total make over......
  4. I would like information on their program as well...
  5. Well... I will be going back to Jeff State this summer for Nur 102 ONLY.. I have to agree with the above..I started the program Fall 2007 and my class is now down to 10... So what does that tell you... I am just going back to take that one class and I'm out of these. They most definitely need a new fleet of teachers in to get the program back on track.. Esp since they are under investigation now.. Do research for the schools that you are considering.
  6. OKAAAAYY! Was there last semester, and over half the class gone down the pipe..And those that passed half of those bottomed out already also. I am just going back to re-take fundamentals and then I'm transferring. The FBI needs to be to Jeff State, especially the Pinson Campus.........
  7. I'm thinking about switching to the Part time program...But I would like some feedback of those who are currently in the program. I am at the Birmingham campus, and I'll just leave it at that. Any information given will be appreciated, Thanks
  8. Thanks so much for the info...I will have time to apply for the summer if necessary. That makes ALOT of sense for the math test, to progress to the 92, I don't see why all schools don't do this. But I will definitely keep the information on hand. Thanks
  9. Ok, that's cool, the Childersburg campus would be closer to me. Do they have a good nurse support for the students, and what about the ERI test, and the math test that has to be taken every semester, what are the requirements for that. I will probably call CACC this week also to get some more information
  10. You know what, I actually thought about getting info on CACC. I think there is a campus in Sylacauga(sp?), I live on 280, so it's a straight shot. Is there any information that you could share?
  11. I have, I just don't know which one to transfer to...I thought Jeff State was the best... But they are so quick to write you off like a contagious disease, and I liek the favortism that is being shown, more quick to help one person than the next. I want a teacher who teaches
  12. I guess "easier" is not the best word... But I am already tired of the mess at my school. I'm trying to figure out if I should have taken the LPN route, then went through the mobility program, or one of the online programs to get my Associates or Bachelors Degree. I'm looking into Herzing, but I'm not sure.
  13. I absolutely loved BioI and II online.. I usually spent a couple of hours during the week for lecture info, and assignments, and saved my labs for the weekends. But you will probably adjust that depending on your schedule. Organization is a key to passing the courses. We weer given all the info ahead of time so that we would know what we were working with... You purchase the lab kits... which would include anything from a straw to a fetal pig....VERY hands on, since it's independent. I'm thinking about taking Micro online too
  14. WOW, that's a really good idea! I'm in my first semester Nursing School, but that is such a great idea!!!
  15. I'm at the Pinson Campus, and we haven't found out where we will be doing clinicals, but I would think that we should be doing the same thing, since it's the same school.... But it's a different teacher though....
  16. What school do you go to.... I'm at Jeff State. I don't know, maybe that's a possibility but a couple of us are confused by this process. What you stated sounds a little more logical. I actually look forward to clinicals for the interaction but that part scares me ( that's if I understood the teacher correctly)
  17. It's going ok... Still adjusting i guess. We have taking one test for each class. I guess the part that scares me the most is the nursing process. I know what it is, and what it includes. But we are suppose to do them for clinicals. And I am freaking out about doing them correctly. B/c if we don't then it's an F
  18. I'm freaking out a little ... amound other things ( ERI, and math test)..... How did you survive it and what do you suggest
  19. Thanks for the info... When I went to orientation they did state that the summer term was stressful because the did have to squeeze all the information in a smaller amount of time.. So maybe it won't be as hard as the summer. That Math kind of freaks me out a little even though I enjoy math sometimes.. It's just the pressure regarding the test.. But I am praying to do my best.. And I hope, personally, that the information comes easier than what I expect.
  20. I start nursing school for Jeff State Fall 2007..I've heard people say .. " It's extremely Hard".. "It's hard!"...." Just a lot of reading".." No what I expecting!" ( not necessarily saying it's hard).... I want to know how is it really. I would assume just like any other subject that certain info may come easier than others. I've taken all my pre-req's except for one and that will be taken in a couple of semesters along with one nursing course.. Does having others courses play a factor...depends on the person.. are there any helpful websites.. I'm don't remember the exact test there were referring to... But there is a class we have to take, even if i make an A or B in the class. We have to pass the test with a 90... This freaks me out....That's more pressure than passing the class itself... Any tips
  21. I agree Summer 07 didn't have to wait as long... I got in for Fall 2007, and it took the longest.. and that was my third time putting in an application
  22. Thanks. I needed this information. Hopefully I can get this done ASAP.
  23. My grades were low b/c of the grades I had a UAB.. My second application I choose to forfeit my grades from UAB.. But you have to forfeit all grades from that school. If there are classes you need, then you have to retake them. The advisor will give you the form, i'm not sure about picking it up after 5pm, maybe you can email her to see if she can leave it with the front desk. The form is maybe one of two sheets, you are basically just signing that you are willing on forfeiting those grades. There's no guarantee they will approve it, it's just saying you are willing on giving them up. When the advisor and the dept head, etc sort the next applications they decided then if your forfeit is approved. Hope that helps
  24. Right:chuckle. I've never heard that rumor. If that's the case I would have selected that one as #1. lol
