  1. ARE YOU SERIOUS!? That is sooo crappy if you ask me, if no one is trying and the rates are so low in OKlahoma. Why do they think we have the worst health care?
  2. I have seen guys wear all kinds of scrubs, there is a guy I wokr with that has alot of the "female type" prints as well. Most guys I see though wear the solid colors. I myself have had a favorite pair of scrubs for 4 years!!, but they still look good and I hate buying new clothes. There is now place here in OK that I know of that provides scrubs at work, except when you work in OR. Other than that you provide your own.
  3. I started about 7 years ago and the rate was 8.50ish starting. Now I do know that I work for a hospital that is owned by St Johns, and it is communistic if you ask me. I dont know if this is completely true, but my boss told me that St. Johns does not "believe in merit raises" . I totally flipped at St. Francis I was getting raises every 6mo. it seemed like in the span of 5 years of being there, I left making close to 13! Now where I am at now I have been here 2 years and make .50 more than when I started. So when considering hosp. I would question that at St. Johns!
  4. If you are an ER nurse and love the interesting stuff, St. Francis is the only Truma 1 in northeast Oklahoma. That also includes northwest Arkansas and southwest Kansas. I used to work trauma there, and the pay in all the hosp. is about average depending on what floor your on.
  5. I let them talk all they want!! I came from 8 years of a$$ breaking construction and 1 year of 16 to 18 hour day 6 days a week oilfield work. Now I am a Nurse I know that most of the "boys" that I worked with in those times don't even have the balls to do what we do. Let me see them apply a peripad, wipe up some vomit, then turn around and wash their hands and finish their lunch! That takes talent my friend.
  6. Hello everyone as of this morning I am an LPN. I am now signed up to this site and love the male nurse section!! So glad to see I am not alone anymore!!! Male nurses Frikin' rule!
