  1. Taller than my hair, that was genius lol.
  2. Just make sure you can get a tan when you shave, coming off the winter time i have no tan, so i've been outside working on it before school starts. :)
  3. Thanks :)
  4. As a 33 year old male with a bald spot on the back of my head, i decided it was best to just put a razor to my head and shave. I personally like it, and as you would expect in my small town lots of smarta$$ remarks, so my question is this.... With a young looking guy thats 6ft 4 with a shaved head and gotee get on ok in a hospital or will my look be frowned on? Just kinda paranoid i guess... :)
  5. I'm learning alot from this post as a future PCT(CNA,phlebotomy,EKG) Now the smells are a big fear, and i got a kinda big nose lol. But really my greatest fear has to be a 20 something REALLY hot looking snotty little girl thats an RN, and to good to wipe a butt. I honestly know ill have problems with an RN like that, because i have serious issues with non team players. How do you deal with someone like that?
  6. Tho i cringe at the thought of explosive liquid BM, at the same time i want to laugh at myself cleaning it up simply because it is so gross. Is that a normal attitude? I know i used this attitude to get through hell on earth type work when i was at Honda, this is how my buddies an i got through the "literal" pain and anger this job was inflicting on us 60 hours per week.....when its so bad all you can do is just laugh at yourself(and the people that was breaking down from the hard work). Tho i gota say, i do fear that breaking in period, but i know i'll take it like a champ(on the outside lol) What is the breaking in period of smelling and touching #2? 2 weeks or so? And to the original poster, just ask yourself "how would i feel if that were me laying in my own BM?"
  7. Yeah, i'm 6ft 3 180 pounds(skinny) i can't wait to try and find scrubs that fit me like i want..... :/ I know when i worked for Honda, my uniforms were a pain to get right,
  8. WOW! so sorry i didn't get back to this post, been busy :) I'm in Alabama and my class will be given at the NE State comm college. It's called PCT and cost, its free since i met a nice lady at the state employment office while asking about some college funding so she hooked me up(WIA, the state allots free money per year and it's first come first serve and i was the last guy to get the slot), sorry i can't tell you the exact cost, less than 3k, prolly more like 2k or so. My course will be one year as it includes some minor classes like spanish and such. Again sorry i didn't get back to this post sooner :)
  9. I start my PCT(CNA, Phlebotomist, EKG tech) classes in April. Just wondering what gear will i be required to buy myself if any, aside from scrubs once i'm done with school and have a job.
  10. More acronyms than the military :) Im starting school next semester and my school calls the course that im taking.... A.A.S in MAT medical assistant tech applied science degree. So far my goal is hospital work, i really want to avoid LCT if i can. Then go back to school for nursing.
  11. Awesome, thanks for the replies:) Yes, i intened to go back to school after i complete these courses, as im in a rush to get out of my job now(Working for KTH lifting 40 pounds 1500-3000 times per night from waist to chest high) Thanks again.
  12. thanks for the reply. The program is state funds called WIA, it has limited slots per year and is income based. Yes i've some some reading on CNA, but i was wondering if all the combined classes had a different title or some how allowed me to get more money. overall does this sound like a good route to go for getting started in the health care field?
  13. I was offered through the state(Alabama) a 100% paid offer to college, and the course will include....... CNA EKG Phlebotomy then basic other courses such as spanish. Not sure if i left out any medical courses that will be included, as the woman was talking fast and i wasn't taking notes. So, this will be a 50 week course 2 days be week 2 hours per day(id like to go full time) So what is this courses title once i'm done, and are there any pitfalls i might be missing with this FREE college? edit: I will be going to NorthEast Community College
