Congratulations Lena!!! I think you and I talked about how difficult it was to find a job in another post. I just moved to Boston in Dec. from NY where I graduated with an AS in nursing, took my boards on Jan 17 and applied to hospitals like crazy. The way I feel is that a lot of them are full of themselves. I applied to so many hospitals within a 40 mile radius of Boston and have finally been offered a position as of this past Tuesday at Brockton Hospital in Brockton MA. While it's a bit of a drive and doesn't offer the city's high salaries(or so i've been told, i really don't know what Boston hospitals offer), i think it's a good fit for me. It has it's own school of nursing...which is a program I came from, they offer a 4 month orientation and the nurse manager on my new floor is nice as can be. I would recommend this hospital to anyone.

I just paid for my unofficial results today and it said that I passed. I cried so much! It is so emotional. I guess they figure if we can get through this we can get through anything. Throwing up sounds good right now. So I just got a call from a nursing school friend. She took the boards on the 2nd of Jan and passed. Anyhow, she calls to offer support to me, which is amazing, but then we start talking about another girl in our class who just got her license (she tested the same day as I did but in NY). Apparently there is a website that you can go to the state that you were being licensed for and see if your name is on it, well it wasn't there yesterday, and this girl (very nice girl, just bad choice of words) says yeah I look at MA and I didn't see your name today. What? Thanks, make me feel worse. I know all the tests are supposed to be the same, but I think hers was easier, we talked about a couple of questions and some of hers were knowledge questions, not the crap I was getting. Whatever, now i'm just getting bitter and I don't want to do that. But it was unnecessary for her to say that to me and make me feel awful.

I second that! My school has been very successful as well, until me I'm sure.

I'm spending money online shopping, this could get ugly if I don't pass the NCLEX. Excessive spending and no job to supplement it. Uhoh!!!

I love reading what other people think and feel. It just feels good that I'm not crazy. :) I completely relate to the question where none of the answers are the right answer in your mind. I will TRY to take your, Eric's, and everyone else's advice and calm down and think positive but it seems so life changing. I will have to go and get a waitressing job until I pass if I fail this one, my fiance needs help with the mortgage. But everyone has their woes. Positive self talk, I will try that, although I did do that prior to the test but can't seem to remember how to do it after the test. I will let everyone know. Thanks. You hang in there as well, I can't believe you have to wait the whole weekend. Get a massage this weekend, hopefully that will help. :) Good Luck!!

Haha! I couldn't agree more. I actually didn't think about it for an hour or so today and it felt sooooo good. I have less than 24 hours before I learn my fate.

I think waiting to get your results is worse than taking the test. I might call my dr. to get some Lexapro. Completely joking. Do others feel the same way? Also, that last question before the test shut off, if only I was confident about the answer. I would feel so much better. It's torture!!!!!!!!!

OH I know, the job search in Boston is so competitive. Most hospitals also wants BS in nursing before they'll even look at you, unfortunately that's not me. I just moved here from NY and it stinks cause I could have sneezed and had a job if I still lived there. But oh well. If I pass and I find a hospital willing to train I'll let you know KellieNurse06.
