I couldn't blame some of my friends who applied for call center jobs coz even if they wanted to gain exp from hospitals, it's so hard get hired... as for me, I'm just reviewing for my nclex after i pass that's when I'm gonna apply...

Nursing Internship Program
During my 2nd yr in nursing the dean of our school told us that there will be a selective retention policy, students need to achieve a certain average grade(85%), however when we reached our 3rd yr we expected the number of students to go down since not all were able to maintain the average grade required, But the selective retention was not implemented, my batch is composed of around 1000+ students when we inquired what happened to the policy the dean just replied : "Business is Business!!" ...

2nd Degree Coursers
I am a second courser will be graduating this April 2007, my first course was AB Political Science. I'm studying at the University of Perpetual Help in Las Pinas. My section is composed of second coursers (accounting,psych,PT,OT,biology,accounting,masscom/abcom,management,hrm,aeronautics,economics etc.) like me and most of us started nursing last 2004 so getting a nursing degree in our case is about 3 years. There is no age limit for 2nd coursers (I have a classmate who's 41 yr old). Most of the subjects credited were minor subjects like: comm arts 1&2, psych, philo, consti, PE 1-4, computer, algebra, envi.sci, chemistry, religious ed 3&4, socio/anthro, history, asian civ, life of rizal, Fil 1 & 2. humanities, art appreciation. Thesis sometimes are credited depending on the study and relation to Nursing Science (mine got credited just my luck ^_~) etc. Requirements for having your subjects credited : Official Transcript of Records from your first course and Official Course Description of each subjects taken from your previous school. 1st semester starts June - October 2nd semester starts November - March summer class April - May (required for 3rd yr n 4th yr hospital duty) Tuition fee : about 35-55thousand Philippine Peso/ semester, depending on the subjects u need to take. ** The most expensive semester for me would be this semester (my last sem) due to graduation fees and mandatory in house review for Local Nursing Boards. My opinion regarding my school: Sometimes we have problems with regards to schedule of duties however from what I've heard we are still fortunate than other schools. Clinical Instructors are mostly accommodating and competent. so far I haven't regret enrolling in this school. Happy New Year and Good luck to all of you specially to all future nurses like me =)

reviewing at pentagon for nle??
Hi! I'm also a graduating student this 2007 like the thread starter, I've read your posts and agrees with Ms. Suzanne. However after the leak scandal I don't have any idea regarding what review center for NLE I'd go to... (what if another leak scandal comes out and the review center I chose was implicated?) =( I'm nervous.... I dont want to make the wrong choice. By the way with regards to your suggestion I'd like to ask what are the 5 states w/c requires CGFNS. and is it possible that I get hired in the US even w/o passing d local NLE? Thank u so much and sorry for asking too many questions. I really don't have any idea.
