  1. praise god from whom all blessings flow!!!!!!! guys i passed i just found out today that i passed that dreadful horrible test. i was feeling like such crap yesterday i couldn't eat or sleep and i drove everybody i know crazy about how i possibly could not have passed that test from hell. my whole entire test must have been sata questions and then it shut down at 75 questions and i just had this feeling of doom. but god is good i killed the cat. now i can move on with my life. to all of those taking this test keep studying. this to shall pass. tammy rn
  2. by the way i also took kaplan and scored a 72% on q trainer 7 and i don't feel like it helped one bit. if the boards are moving in the direction of those alternative type questions kaplan strategies will no longer apply.
  3. well i went in at 7:30 7:45ish and i got out at 9:00. i was the first of the nclex test takers to leave the center. i have to admit that i was a little skeptical of people who were saying that the test makes you feel this bad and that stupid, but now i am a firm believer. my computer shut down at 75 questions and i kid you not i must have had like 30 or 40 select all that apply questions. i didn't even bother to count because it was that many. after question number one they kept coming and coming. and when i did get a regular multiple choice question it was about some strange topic. i did get a few priority and some delegation and a lot of infection control. but i can usually tell when i pass a test and guys this one i did not! anyway i will keep you posted.
  4. does anyone know how kaplan scores correlate to a passing score on the boards? is anybody taking the kaplan course in person and has anybody asked the instructors this question? thanks.
  5. well next week tuesday is the day. i keep telling myself that i am going to pass. so far from what i have heard four people from my class have already took their test and passed. that is a good sign right? i went to one of those schools who have a high passing rate for the boards and i also didn't do to shabby myself when i attended nursing school. still i am not the one for false reassurances. i have completed kaplan and really the game plan for this week is to just review content since alot of the posts have been saying you need a solid foundation in nursing content. kaplan qtrainer scores: q1 88 q2 68 q3 74 q4 77 q5 74 q6 69.... q bank 69% what do you guys think? good luck to all of my fellow nclex takers.
  6. emilysmom2, you and i are taking are test on the same exact day. i am in the same boat you are in. i started out studying with saunders but felt that the questions were not challenging enough. i let one of my co-workers scare me into purchasing the kaplan review, and i must admit these questions are very challenging but you still need to review content to answer them cause alot of the time the strategies do not apply. so i have gone back to doing saunders questions along with the kaplan review. good luck to you.
  7. did you take a break after you graduated nursing school? many people take a little break after they graduate nursing school to give their minds a much need rest from the stress of getting through nursing school. if you haven't taking a mini vacation from studying maybe this is what you need to revitalize and refocus on the task at hand. if you find that you can not study do not force it because most likely you will not retain any informaion during these times. take some time off get refocused and start studying you have plenty of time. ps. sorry sometimes i can be real long-winded.
  8. i am taking my exam the day after you are. i am also using kaplan and sauders to reinforce content. i think that you should probably review more content if you have identified that you do not have trouble with your critical thinking skills. i find that it is imperative to have a sound knowledge base if you intend on anwering any of kaplan's questions correctly. good luck.
  9. are you sure you have all parts to the question?
  10. the comma, comma, and rule means that, if you get a question and the answer choices have a series of choices seperated by commas.......for example a.) tachycardia, sob, and palpitations........ all of the answer choices have to be correct for the whole entire selection to be correct. if one of the answers seperated by commas does not apply to the question you are trying to answer, the whole answer is incorrect and you must not choose that one. i hope this helps you.
  11. just check the box saying that you completed the required class, they are not going to ask for proof. by the way, which school did you attend? i went to bcc in broward county, florida and they gave us that class.
