  1. Great to hear so many are taking summer classes! After seeing so many taking not only summer classes, but more than one class - it's very inspiring! I have nothing to complain about seeing that I'm only taking one class (A&P1 -- 3x a week) for 7 weeks starting next week. I feel even silly at this point to even worry in comparison to everyone else. Good luck everyone; you've all pushed me to know it's all possible!!
  2. The A&P class is ever so popular and fills up quickly. It was the same in LAGCC. If it is closed/full, I wait till the day after payment is due because there are almost always a couple of seats that open up. So even though it's part of the pre-clinical, there are no guarantees a space is being held. Did you get a time for your advisement appt? I was told to be there at 2pm and bring immunization papers. If you don't have those papers, she said they can't advise us. So make sure you have yours!!
  3. Queensborough Community College (QCC) has an evening nursing program. I'm starting in January 2007 so I don't know more about the program BUT everyone has been so nice and the tuition with it being a CUNY school, is very low at $120/per credit. The Admissions Department is great and very helpful! Good luck and keep going!
  4. Hello! Yes, I got accepted (as a transfer student from LAGCC) to QCC's doing my pre-clinical as well. I have a couple classes left before I can take the clinicals. I have my advisement appt but in January so I'm not sure if I can even take an A&P because I'm sure it's closed and full. I didn't take any placement exams but in LAGCC I had to take remedial math because I haven't been in school since 14 years - so it was expected to have a refresher class in that subject for me. Congrats and maybe we'll be in a class (or two) together!
  5. I'm currently living in NY, in school for ADN at a local CC and have gotten an acceptance letter to Barry U for their nursing program. I want to thank you for all the posts because it's so helpful for people thinking of relocating to FL (for me it would be Miami area). I was excited at first to make the move but now not so sure considering the cost of living has gone up while the salary is not reflecting that. I'll keep reading through the posts here before I make my decision...thanks again for all of the information. It's been so helpful indeed!!
  6. I took it this semester as well and had my final yesterday. It wasn't very hard but it was alot of reading and note taking. My advice would be not to miss too many classes if you can help it. The professor was tough but fair and she did not do any reviews or any quizzes in between the tests. It's a a continuation of General Psychology but in our class Piaget and Vygotsky were covered the most as well as the other developmental theorists. I enjoyed the class and it was a welcome break from the other classes we have to take. I'm sure you will do fine. Good luck!!
