  1. yeah, and i am new and in orientation and yep, day shift is bad for not giving report on time .... my fault, nope!!! I've already overheard someone stating that I was the reason they couldn't get their work done, when they themselves said they are scattered....and they too take long lengthy breaks and lunches...not me!!!:typing
  2. ok, this thread is good...but just what are you supposed to say during report? I have heard everything from oh you know that person is so and so's bf and so and so got caught doing drugs, and so and so blah blah blah...oh yeah, they are pleasantly confused, and they are the problem patient of the night...that is what I have heard...I have never given report yet...any pointers???
  3. hi...I am from Southeast KY and I too failed out just last semester of ADN program, but I passed the practical diploma program. I am now working. But orientation is only day 5 and stress/anxiety is really high. I am stuck with another person (worker)who doesn't know how to do primary care... enough said. The person has been there for years, but just today the person has blamed me for things that I had no control over. What do I do? I want to work + I want to go back to school, but just not where I live. I need a change of scenery and another school.
  4. Does anyone know how to fix a broken pen light? Is it cheaper to fix or replace?
  5. well, let me tell ya...when I was doing my precepting clinicals I lost over 30 lbs. After that I started studying again for my NCLEX-PN. I gained weight due to excess sitting and then the holidays and plus depression because I failed the the exam on the 1st try. Well, now I just recently passed the NCLEX for the 2nd time and I have gained weight. I am currently a licensed LPN and just started a job. Now I have been reading orientation manuals and sitting for orientation, and still gaining. When I get home I don't feel like doing anything. What can I do? Has anyone tried the South Beach Diet?:behindpc:
  6. I am in SE KY. Yeah, I heard about the higher wages in other areas, but what about the cost of living?
  7. Hey, I am from Southeast KY. Went to SECC (KCTCS) Comm. College. I am a LPN. I wonder if anyone is on here from my area?
  8. Hi. I am in KY. The starting rate for LPN's here is 13.25/hr. then top pay is over $15/hr. So what is the actual take home pay rate after taxes. Just trying to figure it out. There is fed, state, and FICA taxes plus union dues plus health insurance plus life insurance. Go figure!
  9. You're right. I have seen a lot of obese nurses, but I have seen most of them not quite so active and the way they eat at work is pathetic! I am overweight myself; however, I do try to eat nutritious meals at work and I even pack my own lunches and snacks. I think stair climbing is the best too.
  10. LDL ("bad" cholesterol) L=Lowdown D=Dirty L=lipoprotein :smackingf
  11. Two words for this thread: more education.:studyowl:
  12. Question. How to exercise when at work and how to exercise when you get home from work when you're already exhausted.
  13. Hi, I am a new nurse. What is duoderm? I have never seen it?
  14. I don't know anything about online classes. I just received my pass notification for the NCLEX-PN; however, I want to persue my career further. Does anyone have any information about online classes at all? What about clinicals and labs for the online RN classes? How does that work? I have heard that online classes are no good and are just money rackets. I don't know.:innerconf
  15. Hello Everyone!!! I PASSED the LPN NCLEX on 2nd try. Had over a 100 questions. :roll :yelclap: :smiley_aa
