  1. Thanks for the replys. I did find out the manager who offered me the job was "let go". I met with the interim regional director and she explained that she indeed knew of my bad write ups but that she would not consider them a factor in my transfer because she knew all about my boss that was fired. She suggested I work a few shifts at the other hospital to see if I like it there. So I did! It was great! Also the Dr. I worked with (Regional Medical Director)took me into the back room and praised me for my skills and personality and suggested I transfer. He put a good word in for me too! I met again with the interim and she gave me 4 more shifts one a week for the next 4 weeks and said the position should be open after that. Keeping my fingers crossed! Again thanks for the help.
  2. how can nurses sabotage you? oh they do! they tell lies about your nursing care. they say you don't carry your load. they say nobody wants to work with you. they say you are psycho. this will allow a manager to write you up for unproffesional behavior. they keep it up until you have too many write ups then your out! it is most definately bullying at it's worst. if this happens report the nurses and the nurse manager to the cno and hr before it gets out of hand.
  3. Thank you Ginger, I'll do just that.
  4. I have been a nurse for 20 years.(Ten of those in the ED) My last 3 years in the ED was under a manager who bullied me on a daily basis. Wrote me up for ridiculous hear-say lies from a few of her new hire, incompetent, lazy, loud mouth friends. Now I have these bad marks on my otherwise spotless record. My manager was recently fired and my complaints along with the Dr.'s and several other nurse's was the catalyst. I was recently offered a position, which involved a promotion and raise with the same healthcare organization. When I called a few days later to check the status of my transfer I was told "Sorry the position isn't available". I've got a feeling that the person who offered the job took a look at my file and backed out. What can I possibly do to recover my reputation? Should I question this manager to be sure of my suspicions? I am more than qualified for the new job. And I know it is still available.

  6. I am an ED nurse adding my 2 cents. Yesterday..... A 400 lb abd pain pt. brought in by ambo who's first requests were for a telephone and food. A mother and her 4 children with runny noses. A women with a severe headache who came to the middle of the nurses station screaming that we were too slow. Tryed to take a swing at the Dr. then called 911 from her cell phone and told them the Dr. pushed her. (escorted out by security) A women with a bug bite on her leg, a medication list from home which included 5 pain meds. Then demanded an RX for more. (didn't get any) Left cussing and swearing at us. A 21 yo male with ETOH. pissing all over the wall and cabinet next to his bed. A 40 yo rad tech who shot himself in the head in the parking lot. (didn't make it) All this while working short staffed and learning a new computerized charting system with no prior training. Just another day in an inner city ER! Glad I'm off today to recover. Thanks for listening.
