thanks for the quick reply. so if i understand, u are saying that even if they haven't received my official transcripts from the school but my dean sends a list to BRN with my name on it as a graduate, they will actually let me sit for the exam and just give my license after they receive my transcript?

i will graduate 12/18/07. our dean told us that she can't send our final transcripts to the BRN until early feb. of 2008. she said we can still take the NCLEX before then. i am wondering if this is possible. it sounds fishy that you can take the NCLEX without the BRN having your final official transcript.i am worried because i accepted a job with a start date of feb. 11 2008. if so is there anyway for the job to get my results from the BRN if i havent gotten them in the mail. thanks for the help

no i was on the main list when i entered. my friend was number 2 on the alternate list and he got in because 2 people didnt enter

i'm finishing the program in dec 08. it was a tough 2 years for some. but i found it pretty easy. it's just a bunch of bull assignments and case studies that make it hard. i started 2 years ago and i think my class has lost about a total of 20 out of the original 60. just yesterday we took our ped/critical care final and we lost 5. but hooray for the rest, its on to preceptorships starting this monday.

To sum it up, i said we are all educated people on this board NOT gangbangers that are willing to kill because somebody puts down their place of residence. why would i need someone to back up the statement if i'm already saying we are not kllers, we are educated and the whole getting twisted out of shape should be beneath us? i dont see how you can't see that in my writing. its clear as day. just read it one more time.

You took my statement out of context again. read it carefully for what it says, not what you want it to say. i never said there are any killers on this board. just read the statement for what it says.

it is different when you begin to bash other places to be vindictive because someone has a negative opinion about california. its like you are taking it as a personal attack when someone is just venting. besides, most of the people that are venting about california live here or have been here for an extended amount of time. so its not like they are just speaking blindly. btw what part of lousiana did you live because there are places that even lvn's make a great living. oh yeah i can take it when the shoe is on the other foot. notice i didnt make a remark when you made your remark about katrina. the post you picked from texas is just one thread. there are many many positive ones on the same board. like i said, it seems that you take anything negative about california personally. is it really that hard to belive that california is not all some people expected it to be? and to mercyteapot, i didn't contradict myself. you just have to have the ability to take what i said into context or if you'd like i can break it down into a more elaborate statement. just to sum it up it is different to begin trying to find negatives about certain places because someone vents about california. that just seems to tit-for-tat. besides most of the posts in this thread did not put california down at the expense of any other specific states (for instance is better than california). that should be part of the criteria you use to determine if people are really "california bashing"

when i said she should be fine with it, i was referring to the right for people to have their own opinion. sure it may be annoying to hear negative things about a place you love to live. it would be a big stretch to say cali is all bad and there is no good here. it would also be crazy to say the vise versa. if u look at the news and do research about the median home prices and the percentage of the residents that live here and can actually afford to buy a home, it is sad. and these aren't just welfare cases. people such as teachers, nurses, rad-techs, and more hardworkers just cannot buy a decent home. for most people, $450,000 for a 1900 square foot home in the ghetto is not realistic. there are condos going for similiar prices. maybe im just a city-dumb country boy, but it seems unreasonable to me that only 6-15% of the residents here can afford a slice of the american pie. for instance here are a few articles about the situation: http://www.californiaconnected.org/newsroom/?p=15 http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/text/2004/nov/18/517847267.html http://www.csmonitor.com/2004/0927/p13s02-wmgn.htm Are they also california bashing? You are completely correct. It is closly located to the kaiser in bellflower. I did rotaions at bellflower medical center. let me just tell you, it was the worst of all the hospitals we rotated through. Many of my classmates feel the same. Their ER is small, the nurses are very rude (at least on the med surg floor), it inly seems filipino friendly (and not to sound racist because i'm not). IMO, there are so many better equipped, cleaner, and worker friendly environments that i would look other places around the area.
