  1. I, too, have been a "lurker" on this board for awhile and seen the negative things that have been posted but have taken it all as it is meant to be, venting to relieve some of the stress of what we do. I have also seen some of the positive things and the amount of support that is shared among the "friends" that are made on this board. Just by reading the posts on this board, I have gotten so much encouragement, even though I don't know anyone that has written anything. I have been a nurse for almost two years and I have to say that I truly love what I do. Even though I feel this is my calling, it is not perfect. There are days that I get frustrated, just like any other thing that I have ever done. Keep the faith, remember that you have the power to control your attitude and touch lives. That alone makes it all worthwhile! Robin

Hi all, I live in Southern Maine and work at Wentworth Douglass in Dover NH. I graduated from NHCTC in 2005 with my ADN and returned to school this fall to get my bachelors. I am doing an online program through UMFK though because like everyone else, time is short. Between working full time, four kids, my house and my husband there is little time to sit in class every week! It is nice to see a group on Maine nurses (and wanna-be Mainers!) coming together for support! Robin
  3. I graduated from NHCTC Stratham in May 2005, my class also had a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX. I felt prepared to begin my practice as a nurse, as much as you can feel prepared for the real world of nursing! It is much different than being in school and clinicals. I would recommend looking at the different programs and applying to the ones that would fit your needs. Each program is a little different as far as the make up of the program but the requirements for graduation are all pretty much the same. The education that you walk away with will depend a lot on what you put into it and the committment you make for studying. That will determine how prepared you are more than the school that you attend. Best of luck! Robin
  4. Where in CT are you? I am a fairly new RN in Maine (graduated in 2005). I would be willing to help if I can. Robin
