  1. Hi all. I am considering the UOP RN to BSN online program and would like some input on those who are or have attended the online program. I am finding it difficult to get into my local State school. I am on the fence with the great availability but the cost with UOP. ANY suggestions would be great! Thanks.
  2. This is exactly how I feel now. Since you posted this in 2006 how/what are you doing now?
  3. So I start my first RN job tomorrow - yay! The few RNs I've chatted with recently have given me some great advice "start planning for retirement now - 20 years will go by fast and then you'll realize you have to keep working, because you didn't plan" "your back is everything so take care if it and get monthly massages" "good shoes will be your lifesaver" "take your breaks". My question goes to the experienced nurses who wished they would have done something differently in their career and/or new nurses who have received some excellent advice who would like to share - What is the best lifetime advice you would give a new RN? Thanks for your support and advice to start my career!
  4. Woooohoooooooo!!!!! I got the on the sister unit: progressive care unit. Yippie!!!!! Thanks for all your support :)
  5. Thanks for the info/questions Ashley. I will ask those questions!
  6. Still waiting but have second interview this week. :)
  7. Thanks elljayo that helped calm my nerves a bit. :)
  8. So I have two second interviews in the next two weeks, at different hospitals both in the field I want to go in. If by some chance I get offered both of the jobs, what are some good factors to help me decide which one to choose? They are both the same distance from my house (2 hours), one is through a large organization the other a smaller community based hospital. Both managers are approachable and have encouraged educational growth. So if the first - second interview, offers I will say YES - BUT what if the second place also offers? Is it rude to start orientation at the first place and then leave? But, honestly I don't know which place is better to work for.
  9. good question beba/rn! I'm in the same boat. If we kept up CEU's would we still need to take a refresher course?
  10. Will do! Thanks for the support and positive vibes! :
  11. I think it went well. It sounds so perfect for me and my interests, plus the director and staff were super nice! The hospital has great values too! I want it sooooo bad! I just need to keep good thoughts and know the right job will come my way. Now onto the cardio books!
  12. So I read previous suggestions for new grad interviews for tele unit (CP=MONA, know meds, labs, rhythms, interventions for rhythms, strengths/weak, why cardiac) any other suggestions to prepare for interview? I am so nervous, I hope I didn't get in over my head!
  13. I would love some suggestions. I just got a call back for an interview for Thursday for a telemetry unit. I would love some advice on how a telemetry interview goes? This will be my first interview out of school.
