  1. I am an older RN (license still active) altho I am formally retired. I have seen alot come and go in my years in Nursing. You sound like a "keeper"! I sincerely wish you the best. You will be an asset wherever you go. My thought is to enroll in an AD program (to start). I would never re-do what you have put so much time and effort into. They do not deserve people like you. Go forward. Pray and study hard and you will soon have your degree. You got what it takes !!
  2. Tell that story to the parents of those with autism . Then go and look at some research and don't be sooo nieve as to believe what Big Pharma wants us to swallow. PS: I have NEVER had the flu and if I did I wouldn't credit an outdated vaccine for "saving" me from it!!
  3. No. Never get it.. Too many vaccines out there. What's the point ? Vaccines have become so controversial.. Babies have to get a zillion of them in their first year.. Is autism in kids connected to the "mercury" still in vaccines. How come we have to destroy all the mercury thermommeters and fillings in our teeth but they still use it in vaccines.. Also, how do they know what "strain" of flu will hit this season? We are NOT getting the specific vaccine for what will come.. They just pick one and put it out there. I saw a nurse all crippled and in fetal position until she died after having the Swine flu vaccine in the 70's. No thanks!! I realize I have opened myself up for attack from well meaning nurses on this one. HaHa. That's OK...
  4. What is sluicing the linens? Eeeeewww! I never saw worms in all my years of Nursing. Thankfully!!
  5. You are so welcome ! What town do you live in? I may have some people I can contact for more schools. Alice
  6. Have you looked into Windham Tech in Willimantic? I live there 2 years ago and we had students from there doing internship in the Adult Day Care where I worked. They have an excellent course. good luck!!

Hi: I am new to this forum. I am a retired RN (2 yrs). Specialty was Geriatrics. Last 2 jobs VNA 6 yrs, Adult Day Care (on-Site Nurse )1 yr.Got my RN from a diploma program in CT. Worked in CT. all my career. Moved to TX. last year (9/05). I cannot find out how to convert my Ct. license to a TX.license. I called the Nursing Board in Houston and got push button service and none of the options pertained to me. I understand that most states accept licenses from another state but it seems like that is not so between CT. and TX. I am thinking of doing per diem school nursing and can't even take the first step w/out a TX. license. Please help me. Thanks!!

Hi: I'm new here and am trying to navigate around this site in the hopes of finding out how i get a job in Texas (where I now live) with my active CT. License. I can't figure out how to get a Texas License from anything I've read on other sites. Can anyone help me out? I graduated from a diploma school of nursing and have done mostly Geriatrics. Altho my last 2 jobs were 6 yrs of VNA and ! yr. Adult Day Care(on-site Nurse). I really loved the Adult Day Care as it gave me one on one bonding with the people. I have been retired 2 years but there are school nurse jobs in the area but I can't apply w/out a Tx.license. Can anyone out there shed some light on this for me? I will navigate your site and get informed. Looks interesting here. Thanks...JLSNRN
