steps for foreign RN to work in australia
i am a filipino nurse and seeing that it will take a long time to get to the US (i already have a license in new mexico and complete visa screen certificate) i have decided to go to australia first while waiting for retrogression to ease up. i've gone to and read the websites of the australian embassy in the philippines, the australian immigration website, the ANMC website, etc. and still can't find where to actually start to get things rolling. i don't have an employer in australia. do i need to find an employer there first in order to start the process, or can i just start the process by myself? is assessment by ANMC the first step?

how to find direct hire hospitals in CA
i really need help on this one. i have already passed the nclex and ielts, and my vsc is on final review but i still haven't found any potential employers in the states, preferably in california. i am getting tempted to go through agencies here in the philippines but most suggest that direct hire is still the best way to go. the problem is where do i even start to search for a hospital that is doing direct hire of foreign nurses? is there a website for this? where do i begin?

New Mexico Licensure Question
the new mexico nursing license does not have a picture in it. it only contains your name, license number, expiration date and the address of NM BON. kinda plain if you look at it. it also has a sort of hologram of a lamp in the lower right corner. i got mine 2 weeks after taking the nclex. got my results 2 days after the nclex.

Visa Screen Certificate / CGFNS
my signature in my application and my passport does not include my full name written in script. but the photo id form says to write my full name in script form in the blank for the signature. should i just write my full name in script in the blank for the signature and then sign my usual signature in the picture?

Visa Screen Certificate / CGFNS
how do i sign my photo in the photo id form for the VSC? should i sign my complete name in script like in the blank for the signature in the form, or should i sign it the way i usually write my signature?

Visa Screen Certificate / CGFNS
i have a question with the photo id form for the visa screen. it says under the blank for the signature of the applicant: do not print - sign entire name (first, middle, last name). what does this mean? how do i do this? my signature does not even consist of my entire name.

New Mexico Licensure Question
i just passed the nclex. yehey. took it last june 21 in hong kong. took me 86 questions. i checked the NM BON website license verification today and found my name and license number there. thanks to allnurses forums, suzzane for the review tips and all those who answered all my queries.

New Mexico Licensure Question
that's great to hear. im scheduled in hong kong for june 21. it took me around 2 weeks to get that schedule. just check up on the available slots as often as you can online. vacant slots just pop up almost at any time. dont call pearson for vacant slots, just check online often. when you find a vacant slot, call pearson IMMEDIATELY. before calling, ready your candidate number and the credit card details.

New Mexico Licensure Question
now this got me worried. it seems it takes much longer nowadays for NM BON to process foreign applicants. sent my application jan. 22 but my transcripts were sent by my school a month earlier. i also have not received my att from pearson ( i've registered with pearson already) but my application is only a month old. haven't emailed them yet anyway since the non-us forms clearly stated to wait at least 45 days before any inquiries will be entertained.

New Mexico Licensure Question
it would be much faster if you register with pearson already since you can receive your att immediately and schedule your nclex once the NM BON clears you. anyway, the registration is good for one year and im pretty certain the evaluation process by NM BON wont take that long even if there were delays or there are missing information.

New Mexico Licensure Question
here is the registration process taken from the nclex examination candidate bulletin: 1. submit an application for licensure to the board of nursing where you wish to be licensed. 2. meet all of the board of nursing's eligibility requirements to take the nclex examination. 3. register for the nclex examination with pearson vue 4. receive confirmation of registration from pearson vue 5. the board of nursing makes the candidate eligible to take the nclex 6. receive authorization to test (att) from pearson vue have you done no. 3 since they will be the ones who will give you your att as stated in no. 6?

New Mexico Licensure Question
yup, its really confusing since you do have to pay the $50 for the foreign transcript evaluation by them although you have to submit the CES which is also a transcipt evaluation. so you end up having two transcript evaluation. its almost impossible to call them up since all i get is an answering machine plus they rarely respond through email. already have so much telephone bills from all those international calls to an answering machine.

re:vermont processing time to for licensure/att
i was supposed to apply through NM BON but the new requirements (CES) made it quite longer than what i expected so i've decided to go through VT and pass my application next week. i do have a couple of questions: 1. is the "copy of your current license" just a photocopy of my current philippine professional license (the plastic one)? 2. what do i put in the "i have practiced nursing as defined in ..." if i dont have any work experience? would my application be accepted and will i still be allowed to take the nclex if i dont have any experience?
